There was something on hockeybuzz.com the other day about the new jerseys not being as bad as we expected. They will not be as tight and nancyboy looking as the Olympic ones.

I think we need to see these jerseys in action rather than an image online. Right now, the ones posted, aren't as hideous as I thought but then again I braced for the worst.

Have you seen the one with Crosby in the All-Star jersey? It looks pretty good to me. They're definitely not the tight ones worn at the Olympics. Far from it.

I have to say that they aren't as horrible as I was expecting. I was expecting something that looked like the WJC or Olympic jerseys that made the players look like Power Rangers.

The all-star jerseys aren't horrible, but I'll reserve judgement until I see a Flyers one.

Gotta love the headline on the USA Today story though... apparently we should give some of the crappy players the new jerseys, and it'll make them better players.

They don't look bad at all. In fact, there's not much of a difference from a regular sweater.

Too bad I'm not buying one, though. It costs way too much money.

I'd be all for that, although rather than go the bland route of just recoloring your home and away and calling it a third, I think it would be cool to see a black version of the current third.

The NHL has said there are no third jerseys with the new design next year.

The NHL also said that is only for the initial year. After that the 3rd jersey program will continue.

Like making the nets bigger? Because you know, more goals = more excitement.

Nah, lets just listen to Lindy Ruff *****ing again to ensure that the rules that benefit his team more than any other in the league stay in place or intensify
