Probably couldn't decide which one of them to give it to and didn't want to use 2 stars on the losing team. 3 points is a strong game, but not unusual for them.

Actually makes sense. Just give it to the one with the later goal. Something random. I mean the second and third stars were 1G and 1A so definitely filled it with the winning teams players.

Everybody here thought we had a fantastic gem!
He then signed a 3 year contract worth 1,7 M increasing his salary more than 3 times. Salary cap was then raised to $64.300.000
Nobody knew his offense was going to go this far south (21 goals in 181 games played since signing)
I am pretty sure the Rangers brass saw more offense coming the next 3 years when he was signed
It is easy now to say he has a different role, blah blah blah to excuse his hefty offensive demise
But did anyone see this? NO
I do not buy into these kind of fabricated arguments when the results are suddenly different
When his contract was signed there was hope for offense from Brian Boyle
That hope is gone

That being said: Good guy to have in the POs
Should fetch something OK at the deadline for THAT alone!

Toe Blake, er um, I mean John Tortarella's coaching awesomeness has been at the forefront of the last two games for the Canucks.

Theyve now lost six of nine, and last night they were outshot 45-8 over the last two periods and overtime.

Luongo and Lack have been outstanding. Goaltending is keeping them competitive. Sound familiar?

The day the Flyers made the trade for Luke Schenn, the Coyotes offered Yandle to them hours before at the draft and GM Paul Holmgren turned them down. Same deal as what Toronto got.

A second or a "7.0C"-type prospect.

Ridiculous, Hudler has been great this year. Choosing washed up players from the Extraliga like Nedved and Novotny over the likes of him is questionable.

On defense, there were more curious snubs as well. St. Louis’ Roman Polak, Colorado’s Jan Hedja and Detroit’s Jakub Kindl were all passed over and in their place, a trio of Extraliga blueliners have been selected — Michal Barinka, Lukas Krajicek and former NHLer Tomas Kaberle.

WOW. Hejda is having a MONSTER year. Krajicek over him? Polak is a snub as well. Hurdler, and even more so, Vrbata are huge snubs as well. Terrible decisions.

the only reason that i can think of is that they picked Nedved because it will most likely be his last olympics..

"V Soči je strašně velké hřiště, zvažovali jsme i typologii hráčů. Aleš Hemský dostal přednost, protože je velice dobrý bruslař, navíc hodně vyspěl." , from http://www.hokej.cz/cz/reprezentace/...ce-si-oddechl/

Hadamczik is stressing how important the typology of players was for the selection. Bigger ice = smooth skaters, he uses Hemsky as an example. Hemsky was apparently in competition with Hudler, and made it, because they think Hemsky can handle playing the best of the best better. Nedved made it based on reputation, it seems. Hejda too didn't make it because Hadamczik thinks he's not a good fit for the big ice. Kaberle was set to be a defender from the beginning according to that article. He didn't want to discuss Polak. The coach also sees Pavelec in tough competition with Salak and Kovar.

I mean, I get that he wants players that are a fit for the bigger ice, but frankly I don't get leaving out Kindl, Hudler and Hejda. Polak I somehow can see, he handles the puck like a grenade and isn't the speediest skater. If this whole project fails, Hadamczik will at least get a lot of flack from the Czech media.

Yeah, that was that much of a head scratcher, I forgot to discuss it. I mean you can hold Hadamcziks own argument against him, Vrbata is a very good skater, very mobile and solid if not great on the defensive side. Nedved at this point of his career on the other hand...

Is this official team? Canadas center depth is unreal when you looking at it, Big Joe and Giroux left out, who else?

Toews, Tavares, Stamkos, Marleau, Getzlaf, Bergeron, Crosby, Duchene, Benn all are/have been centers. Crazy amount of versatility and configurations they can create.

Goaltending is going to be Canada's only question mark. That team is stacked. Canada, US and Sweden are my choices to medal. Russia may be home but they just don't have the D or overall depth.

Wow, I overlooked him. How, on earth, does a respected veteran with the resume and numbers of St. Louis get snubbed in favor of Kunitz/Nash? I'm in disbelief over that. Would be his last Olympics as well.
