Generally when Q says something along those lines, the player returns in fair order. When Bicks' knee hit the goalpost, Q said it would be awhile. As you well know, one needs to read very carefully between the lines of not only what is said, but what is unsaid and what has transpired. When I saw him go down and repeatedly not be able to get up, I pictured Jay Cutler. Feel better about it after hearing what Q said and didn't say.

To be fair, when Bickell got injured Q did say that it did not look good and that he would be out for a while.

Sounds like Crow will be out 3 weeks per GameCenter.

So if he sat out the rest of December, he would miss 10 games.

I could live with that.

Three weeks is a bit longer than I was expecting given Q's tone, but we have a bit of a cushion and it certainly doesn't hurt (at least hopefully not too much) to see what our backups are made of given much more playing time.

As already said, if Crow's not back until the beginning of January, that means ten games. Not going to be expecting circus trip point totals, but if we can remain at or above .500 for those ten games I'll consider that a success.

The positive is maybe this makes the players nut up on D a little more and tighten things up.

10 games, 3 sets of back to backs. That means 3 games for Simpson. Likely tomorrow vs Philly, the 15th vs LA, and then he either gets @Colorado or St. Louis at home.

While obviously not ideal, I honestly wouldn't complain with that being the scenario at all if he was able to get healthy and back by 2014. We have a big enough of a cushion to comfortable get by, obviously, and it's not like we need to worry about seeding or anything.

I'm excited to see what Raanta can do. Outside of some rookie mistakes, he's played well so far. And he has a good attitude when he does **** up.

3 weeks with Raanta/Simpson is definitely doable for a team like Chicago.

lets see what you have in Raanta and even in Simpson. Give Carruth the AHL starts and maybe pick up a AHL goalie.

I'd Roger that. Would not be surprised, however, to see Raanta play both games in at least one of those back-to-backs.

Here we go 5 on 3!

I think Raanta plays tomorrow night. Q will ride him if we are winning.

Probably. I doubt Simpson sees action until the next set of back to backs.

Bickell has been taking off of IR, and Morin has been sent down.

No word on if Bickell will play tomorrow night or not.

He's supposed to be back relatively soon, either against the Islanders on the 2nd or the Devils on the 3rd.

#Blackhawks goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin should be able to return to action in four to five months.

Just in time for him to sit in the press box for the playoffs.
