Oh my!!!!
Will I get into trouble if I use a Finnish curse word here to express myself?
So that means Sami was probably only a year or so old when he started skating???

I had two blade "skates". That kind of thing which you coud attach on normal small kids boots. After that I got first real skates at age of 3 or so.

I still think learning to skate before going to school(at age of 7) normal and avarage. At least when I were kid. Maybe now playstations are more in and ppl are learning at age of 6-8 or so.

And at least I did balance quite nicely on that age. I think I haven't fallen down in "normal skating" after age of 4 or so.

That probably means that he was able "walk on the ice with the skates" when having someone to hold on to or a sledge or something. I´ve seen many kids starting to learn to skate with their parents when they are not bigger than a fire extinguisher, but actual skating alone... don't think so. I think a kid of that age does not even have strong enough anckles yet to do that without support.

My daughter is at the moment 10 months old and on the verge of starting to stand alone. Walking with support is ok, but the balance has not developed enough yet, so after a month or two I think she could start learning to skate with support.

Blaah. We have a playstation but still the guy on my new avatar learned to skate under 2 years old (to skate, not to walk on ice). We tried the double blades but they were not good for him (younger kids have used them with success though).

Of course I didn't ment all of kids. Just that when I were young being outside and skate were more in, than now. And as mentioned I'm not so in about kids, just saying what I have heard, seen and done as kid. I'm still skating a lot and there isn't at least so much kids skating as when I were young. Same goes for playing footy etc. at brakes of school lessons.

Has your kid done something really bad to have to wear that jersey at Xmas?

After being able to walk for a couple of months learning to skate should not be impossible. I am still thinking the age in months so I always translate 1 year to 12 months. Learning actual skating under the age of 2 (20-24 months) sounds "normal".

Nyt iski kielimuuri, mutta Jessellä on nyt polvi paskana joten sen takia hän ei ole ollut maajoukkueen mukana.

Main information there is that he wasn't in the national team because of knee injury.

Teemu Pulkkinen (Jokerit) appears to be continueing his torrid scoring pace from the C-juniors qualifying rounds to the actual C-junior league. 5 games, 12+12 points, 4,8 ppg. He's about a point ahead of Toni Rajala's (Ilves) pace (13. 26+20=46, 3,54 ppg) from a year ago.

Are they (Rajala and Pulkkinen) the same age? I read somewhere that Rajala could still play in C-SM, although he now plays in B-SM.

Can anyone who has actually seen Mikael Granlund and Toni Rajala play this season give some sort of an update?

In addition, a question:

Is Teemu Huhtala (Ilves C-junior) Tommi Huhtala's brother?

In the first post of the thread, Pulkkinen is in the 92's category and Rajala is in the 91's

He have been long injured, should be coming back quite soon, but nothing special this season.

What type of injury? I hope not head. Thank you for the update. Do you think he has a NHL future?

Knee injury. I doubt he will ever make it to NHL. He hadn't too great start before getting injured, but he played ok last year(played in playoffs in team which won championship). It would be a longshot if his development won't dramatically change. He is one of those defs which doesn't have any kind of major assets and not too greater flaws. So I think there is enough "his kind of" defs already in NA.

What about Jari Litmanen? Still younger than Chelios and he looks pretty promising...
