It's a nickname for Men's League... basically just a recreational league for adults

A goalie in our league often fills his bottle with liquor and keeps himself topped off throughout the game

I really do love hockey and want so desperately to be competitive but...it's called beer league for a reason

The camaraderie and hanging out make it all worth it.

lol, it does sound fun. We don't really have such things over here. There is one social hockey league somewhere in the country, but I think that is it.

Skating, skating and skating

If you're an above average skater you can have average hands and still be able to blow past everyone

And like others have said, someone remember the damn beer

He's usually very solid but has his moments of getting lit up - whether straight or not. I don't think it makes too much of a difference!

+ 1

Even the worst skater with the worst hands is valuable if they're in the right place @ the right time & know what they should do when they have the puck.

The flip side is the player who can skate fast & has no idea what a back-check, puck support or cycling is.
