Nucks just backhanded the Pens with two goals in about a minute deep in the third.

Nucks just scored twice in 17 seconds (copycats) to take a 4-2 lead over the Pens. And after the second goal I swear Kassian did the Patrick Sharp cowmilking(??) celebration (copycats).

Oh... there were a few years (a decade maybe?) when beating the Wings in round 1 - if only we could actually qualify for round 1 - would have been HUGE to a significant number of our fans.

Just sayin...

HF trade boards phrase of the year: "They're better off keeping the pick and drafting Ekblad."

Heh, and the Pens do one better and score twice in 16 seconds to force OT.

Show offs.

Yep. Held off the scoresheet all game and gets 2 points in the last minute.

Pens win in the shootout, with a Crosby goal, of course.

And that makes Bylsma the winningest coach in Penguins history with 233 wins so far.

He was later seen walking under his own power in the arena. The way the knee was it is very unlikely ligament damage was done, probably a bruise and will miss 1-2 games.

Hutton is in Trotz doghouse
Quote:
@JoshuaCooper
Trotz on the Skinner game-winner: "You have to save those. That wasn’t much of a shot at all."

@JoshuaCooper
Trotz on Hutton's performance: "That’s not good enough for this league. He wasn’t strong at all."
Was not given start last night

He has played awful this year proving he is not an NHL netminder ,, Expect once Rinne is healthy that Hutton is waived and back playing in AHL

Preds should trade for a goalie soon if they want to still have a chance until Rinne is back and 100%

Preds should try to build a system that doesn't require a having a future hall of famer in net to even have a shot at making the playoffs.

It's got to be hard giving up on a system that's proven it can develop elite defenders and goalies.

If only that system could develop some playoff wins.

So funny that the one time they're in a position to draft an impact forward Seth Jones drops to them. Luckily it doesn't look like they will be bad enough to draft that high again this year.

They'll be fine. They have Stalberg.

Btw Leafs got splattered again. Goalies luck has run out and now they revert to their real stats. Carlyle gonna fry when they miss the playoffs.

Doesn't seem like the Blues are revealing much on Oshie's condition. Just day to day with lower body injury.

The Preds could've drafted Mack, Drouin, or Barkov and it wouldn't have changed much. Trotz needs to go. His team is usually dangerous in the playoffs but that style isn't built to go far. Remember that 11/12 postseason? Nashville looked as dangerous as anybody that year but they got beat. Can't ride defense and goaltending all the way.

Trotz is a jerk saying what he did about Hutton publicly. Hutton is what he is. Knowing about Rinne's surgery, Poile made the decision to sign an ahl journeyman. Don't blame Hutton for playing to his skill level.

I'm surprised that they're sticking with Trotz with a forward prospect as promising as Forsberg in the system. I mean does anyone think Trotz has the ability to develop a skilled top 6 forward? I don't think he's done that all his years in Nashville.

Maybe if Nashville sucks again next year they fire Trotz and make Housley the interim and see whether he can sink or swim.

Wasn't sure where else to put this, but per Chris Kuc on Twitter, Kruger is centering the second line Saturday night against Montreal.
