I was hoping they would acquire another first to grab any of Lazar, Mantha or Gauthier. Any of those guys would help us up front.

How'd Orban do in his debut? He was my favourite Giants dman. Reminds me a little of Bieksa

1A, was +3 on the night and got into a fight with another former Giant in Cooke.

All in all, decent debut.

I thought he had a pretty good game tbh. He made some nice plays defensively. Was paired with Jessie Mills for the first half of the game or so and Mills probably had his worst game of the season. Orban managed to make some nice plays to bail him out. As Guy said he was also pretty physical and got into a scrap.

Thanks guys. After the Musil trade last year, Orban really stepped his game up, and became a reliable shutdown guy. He should be good for you

Oil Kings vs Kelowna Rockets tomorrow night. If you want to catch two of the best WHL teams tomorrow night is the time to do it. Should be a pretty good tilt.

No Lazar or Reinhart for tomorrow night though for Edmonton. Still should be an awesome game, I wish it was on the weekend so the crowd would reflect that. Hope to still see at least 5000.

Of course kelowna would be in town on a week night. I'd love to see that game.

Great game tonight at Rexall. Oil Kings beat the number one team in the country 4-2. Kelowna had only lost four times in regulation all season. And they did it without Reinhart or Lazar. Tristan Jarry was simply outstanding stopping 43 of 45 shots.

Fantastic game. OK crowd for a mid-week game and they were treated to a terrific effort from both teams. Jarry was unreal.

Excellent result. What players was Kelowna missing, if any, from the world juniors? Anyone know?

The crowd was a little disappointing imo, but as you say it was midweek. That may be the best game I have seen Jarry play yet and he has had some good ones. Good for him, perfect time to shine with Pens management watching.

Do you think the Kings are going to make a move before the deadline on Friday?

I'd have to agree with your earlier contention. They'll have to make a trade for more secondary scoring. Petryk, Pollock, Kulda and Bertolucci have been contributing recently but they are not consistent or reliable enough once playoffs start against good teams.

Awesome win for the Kings! Kelowna has been unreal this year, huge confidence booster to beat them in regulation for only the third/fourth time this season.

Any thoughts as to potential deadline deals for the Kings?

The OKs will make a trade if they think they can make a run. If not, then they should stand pat or trade for youth.

It's looking likely eye can make a run so I expect they'll trade for today. I'm thinking I'll likely get another playoff package. Got it the last two years and left very satisfied.

Honestly, that could have been a showcase of the Championship. Kelowna is just dominant and the OK's have picked it up big time.

Could be but Portland and Calgary are stocking up with trades and will challenge. Probably the final four in the WHL.

I don't see them trading for youth, they're still a very good team (2nd in the east in terms of points) and they risk losing a lot of talent next year. The team may lack some offensive punch but they're not short on post season experience. I still have very high hopes for this team.

Well it looks like they've decided to stand pat this year, not shocking and probably the best move.

Moroz has 3 points (2G, 1A) so far tonight early in the second period against Kootenay.

7-0 Oil Kings after 2 in PG. Henrik Samuelsson with 4G and 1A so far. Moroz has 4A.

Oil Kings win 8-0. SOG were 58-17 for Edmonton.

Tristan Jarry gets his league leading 6th shoutout.

Great game by the Oil Kings, nice to see Moroz trucking along. If he turns into a solid 4th liner who bangs and provides consistent grit, I think he will cover the bet. Any extra offense he may provide is extra gravy.
