Price on TV right now!

Tri-City against Vancouver on Sportsnet West Price looking real sharp, stopping a breakaway like it was nothing.

10 minutes to go in the 1st.

That Yellowhorn guy looks great! Valach as well, time to look at some possible picks for the upcoming draft.

Tons of guys to look for:

Vancouver
7-John Blum (CSS=#7) D-Man
26-Michael Repik (#46) Right Winger
15- Spencer Machacek (#54) Right Winger
18- Mitch Czibere (#119) C/LW
28- Brent Regner (#156) D-Man

Tri-City
32- Juraj Valach (#135) D-Man

Valch could be a good pick up to add to our d prospects. yellow horn is only a good junior player, no more than that.

But Price, this kid is so awesome, i cant believe how good he is

So fun to hear the commentators talking about Price, they're just drooling over him, but he does look tremendously solid thus far.

Pretty interesting to see what A.J. Thelen is up to, was supposed to be so great, but has been nothing but dissapointing so far....Did somebody said bust already????

He was always labeled a project, they suggested the skills were there but questioned heart and drive...such a waste if it doesn't come together.

WOW!! Maybe it's just me but Yellowhorn looks like he could stand to lose a few pounds. I mean, I;m definately not one to be talking but the guy looks a little overweight,, but it could just be his face too.

That's the Hockey Future analysis.....with that in mind, if this kid doesn't in fact succeed, that's more than major dissapointment....

Talent Analysis

Thelen is a big, mobile defenseman that has an incredible offensive upside. He skates with a pro stride and makes quick, crisp passes. As a freshman, he exhibited offensive flair quarterbacking the power play and rushing the puck up ice during even strength play. He is still a bit raw in the defensive end, but is a solid positional player. With his size and speed, Thelen can really challenge opponents with aggressive play, but still needs to work on reading when to jump up on the rush. He has a hard, accurate shot and possesses excellent vision and puck poise, which makes him especially dangerous on the power play.

Future

At 6’3, Thelen has the size to develop into a dominant defenseman. He is already a dangerous offensive player, but has the potential to become a top two defenseman at the next level

Loubardias and the color guy Consentino just continue to drool all over Price in the second and it's fully deserved! 2 great saves late in the 2nd.

Really good, hard hitting game. Price looked great, that lunging blocker save was awesome. Didn't really like the 2nd goal but he pulled through.

I watched the 2nd and 3rd and price played great. I was wondering if the second goal he let in hit a stick or not. I guess I will watch it again in slowmotion tomorrow. and like madbox said what a great blocker save that was .price made it look like nothing

Thats what I like about him.. This guy is there to block shots and move the puck ahead, even his rebounds are calculated.. No mustard, no ketchup, he is there to win hockey games.

It was deflected, he had no chance. They only showed the right replay once so i guess not everybody noticed it...

I've been to a few PA/Saskatoon games over the past couple of years, and not once did Thelen ever stand out. Ever. And I've never heard anyone really talk about him since he came to the WHL, and believe me, they talk a lot about PA's top players around S'toon. If he hadn't been traded, next PA/Saskatoon game I went to I would've started razzing him. This guy should be dominant (he's an overager that was a high draft pick), but he's merely an average top 4 WHL blueliner right now. Maybe Don Hay can extract something out of his corpse of a career path, I don't know.
