As for who gets called up, I wonder if they'll even call up a defenseman at the moment. Might call up a forward to test out first.
I'd rather see Baranka in NY than Girardi, mainly because I don't feel Girardi will ever be a real good NHL defenseman and Baranka is more suited to the NHL, but you could see Girardi called up to be the 7th D as well...
Good point about the possibility of no D-man being called up for the next two games (Sat and Mon), but after that a 7th D-man is a must....
I think Baranka has more individual talent but also think the steady Girardi will make it...Also think his game will be suited for a team playing solid positional team defense, which unfortunately isn't our forte...
I really hope one of those two are called up. I'm really high on both Baranka and Girardi. I really want to see if Girardi can translate the strong positional game he plays in the AHL to the NHL. He makes amazing first passes out of the zone, something that the Rangers current D often has problems with.
I didn'tthink so....Always thought it was because of injury (including his dental problems), but I'm probably wrong..
ahh dental problems. I just got 2 wisdom teeth yanked out. I feel like I could play some hockey right now if i was still playin college hockey, what a panzy (lol jk). Probably feel like I could play right now cuz im doped up on Viconin or how ever its spelt lol
I doubt it. Atlanta already has Exelby and Vishnevsky, both of whom do the job better and make less... I don't see how many non offense minded bangers you can fit on one team.
OK, we need a 7th D-man now....Does it make sense to call up Girardi or Baranka to sit in the stands? Now, if Renney goes into a rotation by merit, that would be nice...But more then likely it will be between Pock, Racunkek and whoeverthe new guy is...
Maybe Sather is getting ready to swing a deal??
There has been alot of talk regarding Malone & Orpik. Someone posted this link in the Trade Rumors section-
Are there a lot of GM's at the All-Star game? This could be a precursor to another move, possibly before the All-Star game tonight or tomorrow morning?
You think that the Rangers would put him on Waivers already? I was thinking towards the end of the season if anything. Malik should be next imo but I doubt Sather would do that. Please waive or trade Malik that would make a lot of fans very very happy.

I just think they prefer to keep the others, Krog was really a shot in the dark and I think they know that. If he makes it through waivers he's part of the Wolfpack playoff push.
I would rather we call up a Forward...hopefully Immonen because we desperately need a 2nd line center and I think if Renney stays patient with him, Immonen will be a good 2nd line center.
Yes, I would also waive Krog...this way with Krog and Kasper waived, we can call up Immonen and a 7th D (Baranka or Girardi)

I truly hope that is their thinking. On the NHL level, he adds FO ability and that's it...No energy, no life..On the AHL level, he could truly bolster the Pack's offense..Like Brad Smyth
Seriously, though...I'd be pretty shocked if he were picked up. Hefty price tag for a 34 y.o. defender whose ability to play errodes further with every game.
It could be refs would stop calling those non-calls comes playoff time. In this case Kaspar could play his game and may be useful.
Could be, some of those 2nd C's carry some Cap weight with them...
Brad Stuart, signed to an extension, would also be a nice thought...Just grabbed that out of the air..
Stuart's wife is from California and there is speculation she wants to return to California
The Blues want to re-sign Eric Brewer who is other guy mentioned in rumors

The Blues are attempting to re-sign defenceman Eric Brewer, who will be a UFA in the summer. They are pleased with how he has played under new coach Andy Murray
