Brian Rafalski has signed with the ECHL's Florida Everblades in the first step of a potential NHL comeback.

Looks like whatever was wrong with Oshie in the last game, he played tonight in the Blues blowout of Calgary.

Tired of Anaheim winning already.

Kings are embarrassing Tuukka so far through the 2nd.

Why are you tired of Anaheim winning? They're a great team. It's kind of sad to hope that other teams lose just because the Hawks are playing too poorly to stay ahead of them in the standings.

I would want Anaheim to lose even if Chicago was on a winning streak and playing the best hockey of their lives because I want every Western Conference contender to lose because it helps the Blackhawks secure the #1 seed and home ice.

And if we are getting into the ways that other posters appear "sad" to us, I think it's sad you felt the need to inject another one of your whining rants about the Hawks play of late into this thread even after another poster already reminded you your act is getting tired and this thread isn't really the place for it.

*shrugs*

The two teams have played equal numbers of games. The Hawks have actually had the easier schedule thus far. The fact that we need other teams to start losing to secure home ice and the number 1 seed is an indictment of the team's play, whether you want to acknowledge so or not.

There was no whining or ranting. I point out that this team needs a wake up call of some sort and suggested that a loss to Boston might do the trick... in a thread with a title about a match against Boston. The HORROR! I'm sorry about your over sensitivity to criticism of your favorite team, or inquiry into somewhat petty hopes for failure of other teams.

But yes, it is sad whenever fans of a team must stoop to wishing ill on another, simply because their own team failed to take destiny in their own hands by earning the points they should have.

You are one to talk about the sadness of wishing ill on others when almost every post of yours is badmouthing/insulting/condescending to/passing judgment on other Hawks posters.

But again thanks for that patented melodramatic fatalism I know I can always count on from you... where saying that I am "tired of Anaheim winning" in passing commentary on the state of other Western Conference contenders amounts to despicable ill-wishing that only a "sad" fan would "stoop to."

That is exactly what happened in 2007 when they won the Cup.

Here's by player http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/pl...t/blockedShots

I don't know if you can fiddle with it and somehow get the team stats.

They lost in the playoffs when they won the cup?

I think he's pointing out how asinine the original statement was through the use of sarcasm.

In 2007, the Ducks started dominant, stayed dominant, had one cool stretch toward the end of the season, then ripped through the playoffs on their way to the cup.

Actually, it was remarkably similar to the Hawks' 2013 season, albeit a fully 82 games.

It's amazing how often play during the regular season is indicative of play in the playoffs, and how helpfully that allows for analysis and prediction of issues that will cause problems once the games start mattering.

Two good fights in a row in the Leafs/Caps game.

Sure is.

Also, love how all they need to get are two all-star, franchise, likely future Hall of Fame players.
