care to elaborate? just curious. I mostly want to see how different your perception of the player is from reality.

Man pageau is soooo overrated by sen fans. I'd easily trade him or package him for a first.

Do you live in fantasy land where you believe all your prospects are going to become star players? I gave both guys more then enough respect, praise while giving realistic expectations.
well I could equally say you live in a fantasy land with just as much Merit lol We project their careers to move differently I guess, especially lazars. I did not say star players, you did.. I do however think they will be better than a player like Reinhart. And a trade involving both of them is so unrealistic its pointless to discuss. Ill value players the way I value them, your opinion of my evaluation is quite irrelevant as I have more knowledge of both players than you do. Just as I wont tell you how to value a player like Zemgus, as you have more knowledge of him than I do although ive seen "enough games to have a judgement of him"

Remember the discussion of value was based on Reinharts value over Zibanejads + Lazars. You felt this makes sense.. Im telling you that you are wrong.

Zibenajad and Lazar aren't even worth anything near Aaron Ekblad or Sam Reinhart. Add in your 2014 1st and keep adding. Reinhart and Ekblad = elite superstar prospects. The Sens package = NOT ELITE.

I think the difference of opinion is based on what 1st overalls are typicall valued at. This year however, the top guys are seen as great players, but not as great as the top guys in recent drafts. Zibanejad was 6th overall in a strong draft year and Lazar looks to be a steal at 17.

Would you trade 6th and 11th for 3rd? That is a tough call.

---Added after ---
The Sens have no interest in Buffalo's first pick anyways. It makes no sense for Ottawa's rebuild plan. On the other hand, the 2nd would have value for Ottawa. Bingo is stocked with near NHL talent and they will be leaving town for greener pasteurs soon. Guys like Peumpel, Prince, Claesson could be of interest for Buffalo as they are decent prospects that are more developed and could break into the NHL faster in Buffalo.

That makes sense.

Lazar is a character who I really like, he plays both ends of the ice and has a decent skill level, he is essentially Ottawa's version of Girgensons. While you may not make this trade because you probably overrate your own players I would think you GM would probably pull the trigger and add a corner stone in Ekblad or even Reinhart. Buffalo all ready has good prospects in the same class as those two but what they need is a cornerstone which neather Lazar or Zibanejad are going to be so they obviously pass.
Well said. Ottawa doesn't do it neither will Buffalo.
If I were Buffalo, I would pick Ekblad for the 1st overall pick.

Ekblad, Nikita Zadorov, Rasmus Ristolainen, Tyler Myers, Mark Pysyk, Jake McCabe

Would be scary to play against.

I have a feeling Tim Murray will try to get Shane Prince to Buffalo. He is a good player but I don't think he would any room on Senators roster. Plus the fact he is from Rochester and Senators fan know how Murray's like hometown players ( Rochester is 1 hour away from Buffalo, close enough )

That group is already pretty imposing without adding Ekblad. Our forward group however...
Reinhart is easily my choice if Buffalo gets to pick between the two.

Yeah I could see a deal like this:

Prince + 4th

For

2nd + AHL player unlikely to make NHL

Mika Zibanejad is one of the most underrated prospects/young players in the NHL. Ottawa would be foolish to package him & they're next best prospect for an unknown lottery position. Especially in this years draft.

What?!? Princey was a 2nd rounder and he has developed pretty good for the Senators. Imo, he won't have room on the Senators roster.

Reinhart an elite superstar prospect? You're gonna be disappointed.

I haven't seen but one person mention Miller. The sens are about the last team in the NHL to need a goalie as well.

Okay that was an exageration but why can't he be a Richards type of center? I think his floor is a Pavelski type of player and his celing is a Bergeron/Toews type

I am sure Tim knows the Senators prospects much better than we do on HF....so he knows value and if a trade helps the Sabres....he will make it. I myself would be inclined to keep the 2nd and use one of our other seconds to move up to draft a player we covet. We have a lot of menuerverability....why trade it away. If the Islanders defer their pick .... the Sabres 2nd might be what it takes to move it up and draft a Bennett, Draisaitl, Nylander,McCann etc. I don't want to trade away that power. At worst we could use it to take a Goldobin, Pastrnak, etc or who drops.

I see his ceiling as around a Pavelski type he will be a great player but I don't see him reaching Toews status.
