22 teams entered tonight without a penalty shot goal. It's a low percentage, high excitement play.

2013 was only a half season, so only 34 shots. Small sample size.

Pretty steady at 35 or so percent. Twice as likely as a PP. Not that low percentage.

Hey all, Sens fan here.

If you'd told me a few years ago that last year we would have 3 quality goalies, let alone 3 quality STARTERS, I would have thought you nuts. Its nice to finally have some stability in net. And I hope Rinne comes back soon for you guys (not sure what his injury sitch is), he is all-world!

Before tonight, it was a 26.19% success rate for 2013-14. Slightly higher than most team PP% but a rare event that with a relatively low success rate. Nystrom's earlier success pretty much stacked the odds against the Preds converting again any time soon. We're now 1 for 2 converting and opposing shooters are 0 for 2 against the Preds.

Horrible Turnover by Ekholm behind our own net and Maz wasn't ready for it and Turris scores.

Blind passes from our defenders are killing us lately. Reversing the puck without knowing what was behind him was not the play we needed from Ekholm there.

Now we just need to score three. No prob.

Bad pass by Ekholm, bad positioning by Klein, by tracking by Maz, great shot by Turris. It happens.

It isn't just the bad reversal by Ekholm. We're making weak, blind passes during attempts to break up rushes as well. Get puck on stick, don't look, pass it somewhere, hope it goes well ... all great until it ends up on the opposition's stick for a chance which keeps happening.

I think Ekholm may end up in the doghouse for that play.

We can't sustain zone pressure to save our lives. Looks like NHL14.

As bad as the contract is, Nystrom really cares about this team.

Hmmm ... an overall good first period followed by a disappointing second. I think I've seen this movie before.

The pass from Jones to Ellis gets deflected ... the shot by Ellis gets deflected ... somehow we get a goal. Just how it was drawn up.
