Well, it was pretty obvious that sending one guy down wasn't going to results in "a major youth movement".
Cuz you only clear room for one player.
But...the big question is still what are the Rangers going to do. Dellapina says they're not making room for a trade, but then he says they're not calling anyone up...so are the Rangers just going to stand pat for the rest of the season and hope things magically get better?
That possibly might be the only thing that makes me very irritated with management. This team, as is, isn't going to get better this year if they haven't already. At least in my opinion.
Yea for some strange reason management has this insane idea that the team we have will take us into the playoffs. I hope I bite my tounge but I just don't seee it!
Still, if that's what it comes down to, not against the decision to leave kids in Hartford to continue development but I thought at least 1 forward also deserved a shot (Callahan???) and could possibly give the team a shot in the arm that it desperately needs...
As for the Rangers, until they find a 2nd line C somewhere, they will be in a world of **** and Renney will continue his assinine line combos...
I think the Rangers will make some type of deal to add some offense up front. Getting rid of Kaspar gives us the room to make a deal and although the article says that nothing will happen, I think that the organization will find a deal they like and go with it. I'm sure it won't hurt our future too much but if they keep losing, they will probably try to add a player.

According to Steve Zipay from Newsday, the Rangers will call up players from Hartford.
"The Rangers will need a little luck to get Girardi to New York. The 22-year-old, who wasn't drafted out of junior hockey, had to be put through re-entry waivers. So if somebody claims him by noon today, the Rangers will lose him."
why would girardi need to clear re-entry waivers? when was he on our roster?
ya that doesn't make sense. We just signed him in the summer and he is only 22 or something like that. I'm sure he has a 2 way contract as well (I think that only has to do with the amount of money that he gets paid, not whether or not he would have to go through waivers if he was recalled or demoted). If this is true though, we def. will not see him until next season then.

wait the Rangers already recalled him? So another team could grab him by noon tomorrow, or was it noon today?
I would think if it was today we would have somthing more solid other then Dellepina's words but I donno
Remember the article is going to printed tomorrow so when he says today he is talking about noon on the 25th. Maybe the other guys didn't know this or maybe Dellapina is wrong but I don't think so he is. The man knows the sport very well.
The whole situation is just sad, sad, sad.
Just think what Ranger management is saying here: there isn't one player on our top minor league team that can help make us a better hockey team.
What an indictment of Ranger scouting and drafting.
What an indictment of Ranger player development.
What an indictment of the abilities of those on the Wolfpack.
So on Saturday its back to Hossa, Hall, Ward, Orr, Krog and company.
Next year I'm sure we'll hear the same stale excuses, "well, they're just not ready yet...maybe with just a little more time they'll be ready to help....maybe."
