got the royal blue tavares right after he was drafted, got the dark navy authentic with the fighting strap for like $300 at modells around 10 years ago. Got a white osgood, got a orange Jason Weimer (don't ask why, i don't know) Got another dark blue replica about 15 years ago that is riddled with autographs

2008 Okposo home. I wanted a Nabokov third a season ago but he's getting too close to retirement for that. Maybe a Strome or Tavares away

So I finally was able to get my hands on a blank white fisherman style jersey and was wondering if anyone around here would know where I could possibly get it customized? I know it's a long shot cause it was so long ago but there has to be someone out there right?

One thing I noticed by attending a isles game recently was the number of horrid isles jersey designs the isles actually have had.

I'm ashamed to admit I do not own an Islanders jersey, yet. I had been looking for a vintage Mike Bossy, but I am having trouble finding them, so I might just buy our current jersey and turn that into a Bossy. It's close enough, I think. I'm tired of looking. I just want a jersey, darn it!

Others I want:

The old Orange alt
Okposo road jersey
Tavares home with the 40th anniversary patch
Tavares Stadium Series jersey

I have a few, from the isles i have a team signed 99-04 jersey, old orange third from early 2000's, and an okposo dark blue home jersey. Other jerseys i have are a crosby powder blue winter classic, brodeur home jersey, and a kings practice jersey.

Thinking about getting a Nelson winter classic jersey, but is he permanantly #29? Or was he just given the number for his rookie season?

22 Bossy (white)
16 LaFontaine (white)
91 Tavares (blue)
91 Tavares (all star)
20 Tavares (canada)

Next on my list is a blue fisherman jersey, been on the hunt for one of those for a while.

A lot and I do mean a lot. Ranging from a white fisherman ziggy to every type of Tavares.

Wife bought me the Stadium Series jersey. Was so pumped but not so much since they are crawling into this game poorly.

Finally landed my first Islanders jersey. Picked up a road blue Starter jersey (blue was road back then). Going to send it to Stitches and have Bossy 22 sewn on the back as soon as I can. I'll post pics once I get it back. Being that I am currently looking for work, it may have to wait a bit as well as my picking up anymore jerseys.

I don't post much but I wanted to let you know that I've sent multiple jerseys (baseball and hockey) to Exclusive Pro Sports in IL. I'm still waiting on the returned product and I can certainly let you know how they turn out. I gave an opportunity to Gerry Cosby near MSG to customize and they sent it out to their embroiderer and returned a really bad Team USA Parise jersey. There was no twill name plate and the "C" on the front was ironed on. Horrible. Upon EPS seeing the jersey, they also mentioned that the red in the number was bleeding and causing a pink hue around the white. A couple of 3rd Islander jerseys from the Stadium series I had the NHL store do and they were not centered correctly. I was deeply disappointed. Once I see the results of the EPS, I may send those 3rd jerseys out for them to repair. Check out their website and facebook site to see their work.

Stitches NY in Queens. You can ship it there or if you're local, you can drop it off and then pick it up. Takes about a week usually (depending on their workload at the time).

They do a perfect job... they're the place that does the actual jerseys for the Islanders, so you know they're going to do everything exactly right. I'd say it's worth giving them a call to see if they can do the fisherman jersey.

they can do any isles jersey! except the fisherman.

your best bet is to try to find the numbers on ebay and then bring them to stitches to apply them to the jersey. good luck though they wint be easy to find.

Im a bit ashamed.

Ive never owned one. I'll wear Islander tshirts, a great warmup jacket, tons of hats but never had a jersey. It just never felt right I cant explain it.

Being in my mid 50's - the only jersey Id be comfortable with would be one from the 70's teams. Id feel ridiculous wearing a Tavares jersey. Thats just me. I got issues lol. I think they look great on everyone I see regardless of age except me. Imagine Uncle Fester or Mr Peanut in a JT jersey and you might just understand!
