Yeh, I would put money on him not being quite right injury wise. He has lost some jump and intensity from ~8-10 games ago.

Which watching him in Tampa and Colorado as well as when he first got here is literally the complete opposite of himself.

All-in-all it's been a really depressing second go for Downie as a Flyer. There used to be a youtube of his highlights set to the Offspring's "You're gonna go far kid" that was bad ass. It's since been deleted, but I still think of the dude every time I hear that song on the radio.

Then why say you are benching him? He has been a polar opposite of himself (a.k.a. a bad hockey player), but why not just call a spade a spade? Personally, if I was injured, I'd rather my coach say that I was resting for a few days to build up strength/conditioning as I wasn't feeling quite right than question my compete level.

The same idea came to my mind earlier this season before we traded Talbot for Downie, when Raffl was still with the Phantoms and Berube was dressing Rosehill as a regular.

But obviously Chief likes to a have his goon playing 4min each night better than an additional defenseman who could be used as a role player on special teams or to reduce ice time for our aging D in general...

Or maybe dress one of the D as checking winger? Meszaros or Streit would probably not be out of place in a forward role since they do not know how to defend anyway

If Mez just moved like 3ft up the boards from the position he is always in he would pretty much be playing wing anyway!

Marek Zidlicky eat your heart out.

Question on the live streams -- are any of them actually legit/good? I clicked on one link (I believe the first one) and it asked me to download some software, at which point I immediately clam up.

If there are decent streams out there and they work most of the time, why the heck am I paying for Fios? Besides HBO and the Flyers, I really don't watch much or have time for much TV.

http://www.wiziwig.tv/competition.ph...line=icehockey

Some on here are usually pretty good.

For flash streams the 'lag10' site is a decent one, or 'njtv'.

But the acestreams are usually the best.

I wish I hadn't signed a two year agreement with Fios. I would much rather watch live streams if they are solid -- segway --

If anyone has Fios, are you like me and find yourself in a semi-murderous rage when the games are on TCN? There is not an HD option for TCN on Fios and the quality is Prism-esque

...back to my original thought...I would love to get rid of cable because all I would want is HBO and Flyers, and could get antenna TV free to watch local news when necessary.

Probably out of fear he'd be targeted when he returned to the lineup (hence the ubiquitous use of upper and lower body injuries as a descriptor for every ailment).

And probably because the org already doesn't have a good history with injured players/disclosure of injuries.

If you go to our GDT and click the streamo link in the OP, it's always the best one and usually never has any issues. Pretty much HD as well.

Put him on the 3rd line wing. He can skate and thinks O in the games he has played so far.

Could it work for him I wonder?

Mcginn - Coots - Mez

3rd pairing
Gus- Schenn

Do it....

Thanks for this. I have to watch streams here in Newfoundland, Canada as the games aren't televised on our networks (for the most part). Some streams this year have been bad, but then again they are free and streams... but any more better ones always welcome.
