The first goal was weak and even if there was a blown play on the second any NHL goalie, even a backup, is expected to be able to save that. Emery has no mobility though and is just awful.
He also comes into the game with a sub .900 save percentage. Not a good time to defend him.
He's terrible, but this game is very likely 1-0 with Mason or anyone else back there. There's a big difference between "defending Emery" and suggesting that he's not the only one playing like **** (especially defensively) of late.
