Always have to hope that the team that is regressing to the mean isn't yours. Think it's a little early to worry about seeding for the playoffs with over half the season left. But it's always fun to speculate. if you make the playoffs in the West, there will not be any push overs.

I love this game. In more relatable terms:

That's a nice restaurant dinner for a family of 4 ($100) everyday for almost 700 years.

You could lay dollar bills end to end from our barn to the American Airlines Center in Dallas and back and still have about 30 grand left over to buy a low-end BMW.

Roughly double the Toronto mayor's body weight worth of blow (he'd know what to do with it allegedly)

My season ticket for the next 33,000 years, which would pretty much define "Here to Stay" ...

Saw some pictures on Facebook this evening - apparently the Red Wings have three games in California starting Thursday and practiced this morning at the Scottsdale Ice Den.

(there's another reason the league doesn't want to ever move the Yotes, i have a hunch - a warm weather golf holiday excuse for both team and league personnel)

Doesn't Sidney Crosby skate in Scottsdale in the off-season?

That sounds like the opposite of what any sane, Canadian professional hockey player would do. If I need to skate in July, I'm doing it in Yellowknife, not Scottsdale.

They did during the lockout. Not sure about this last offseason. Couple big training programs are out here like Athletes Performance and whatnot. Scottsdale is certainly not a bad place to spend a few weeks training, blistering heat and all.

Wild beat the Kings in a shootout.

I don't even know what to think about that result.

Annnnnnd the Pens scored 2 goals with the goalie pulled, 16 seconds apart. Beat the Canucks in a shootout. Unreal day.

Good news is Minnesota, Dallas, and ourselves all have the same ROW at this point in time. Still plenty of hockey left, and we aren't bleeding out yet.

For years I had a tradition of hiking Squaw...er...Piestewa Peak on the Fourth of July, just so I could say I still could (I'm over it now ). And, if you've ever been there on a Saturday in early spring when there's a line to get a parking space...it's amazing just how empty that trail can be in summer.

If someone like Crosby wanted to hide in plain sight, Scottsdale in summer wouldn't be a bad place to do it.

Oh, joy.

The move of the Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg, confirmed at the start of the 2011 Stanley Cup finals, was heralded (mostly in Canada, of course) as a cause for rejoicing, a return of a once-proud NHL franchise from a southern wasteland to its rightful place on the snowy prairie.

How's that move working out so far?

I literally just now noticed that LOLbarbera was traded to Chicago.

In before he wins a cup with them as their backup?

If that's their long-term solution in net, what a bonus to the rest of the Pacific. Scrivens is an upgrade to Dubnyk, but he's certainly not a No. 1 goalie.

I'm not sure they can get an accurate read on any goalie while their team defense remains so sloppy.

Thought it was odd they picked up a 4th line center.

Perhaps Gordon is on the move. One can hope.

You hope to have the chance to pay a 4th liner 3 million dollars?
