I thought Girardi was up already and will be at practice tonight at 5. Also I though it was made clear that he did not have to go through re-entry waivers. I'm confused. lol
In 45 games he has 2 goals 22 assists for 44 points and a plus 4. He has 16 penalty minutes and stands at 6-1 , 210 lbs and is young at 22 with some upside.
LOL hope they give him a chance too..but we can all hear it coming already:
"Daniel has made some strides and showed that he's getting a little more comfortable with his transitional game and he has a great future with this team unfortunately for right now Daniel isn't in a spot where we can get him all that much playing time because we have some other guys here who have bought into what we're trying to accomplish"...that would be Renney probably while wearing a mustard colored suit and speaking the day after a loss to Philly after Girardi doesnt play and Rachunek Ward and Malik DO....

Best of luck Daniel. Hope they give you a chance.
does the ahl they have a weird way of talling points, goals times assists? jk.

if they do that again, which is possible, then this team will never get anywhere this season.
Agreed. It's time to just admit that the group of vetrans -especially on the blueline-isn't enough to get things done..There are some capable guys. Now let them get their hands dirty and do their job..
Daniel Girardi was never placed on re-entry waivers

this has been discussed. tsn is using the daily news article which John Dellapina has said on his blog that was wrong. http://blogs.nydailynews.com/rangers/

No Risk in Girardi Call-Up, After All
My bad. I erroneously reported both here and in today's Daily News that Daniel Girardi required re-entry waivers to be called up from Hartford to the Rangers.
He does not.
I'd bore you with the explanation of the misunderstood telephone call that led to this incorrect piece of information being published. But that's my concern, not yours.
So was my inability to parse the language of the Collective Bargaining Agreement quickly and accurately enough to understand why Girardi did not fall under Rule 50.9 (g), which would have required him to pass through waivers.
Suffice to say, Girardi's call-up today to replace Darius Kasparaitis on the Rangers' roster was a risk-free move. Sorry if I caused any cold sweats to break out among you Girardi fans out there.
The Rangers had to wait till noon today to see if anyone claimed Girardi. It's 4:30 pm in NYC by my watch. Has anyone claimed him?
Not that I've heard. And I've been keeping an eye out on TSN and the Ranger site, neither of which even mention him being recalled..BTW-Dellapina's blog says it was a mistake and he didn't have to clear them..So I have no idea what's going on right now..

READ MY POST ABOVE URS. THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED IN THE OTHER THREAD.

So what...is he actually going to play in a game? Or they just brought him up for so he can play in practice and watch Ranger games from the press box?
Who is going to be scratched if he does play? I guess the likely candidate is Malik, wait...forgot Renney is the coach, so it guess Pock.

the decision on who will be scratched should show us which way this team is going to really go.
if the scratch is someone like Malik, great, progress
if the scratch is Pock...then we know Girardi won't last more than a few games either

I think it might be Rachunek. They have to be considering playing him in the games this weekend and giving him decent ice time seeing as how they are now keeping him out of the AHL All-Star game, where he is suppose to be a starter. They wouldn't do that to him? right? lol
If Pock sits, thats BS. Malik and Rachunek should be taking turns siting. perferably malik.
Rozival Pock
Tytuin Ward
Rachunek Girardi
something of that nature.
I would be happy if either Rachunek or Malik sits. Hopefully Sather or Maloney will trade Malik to a team desperate for D so that my 3 wishes will be granted (Get rid of Ozo, Kaspar, and Malik). That frees up so much money for the off season, something along the lines of 10 million, plus Rachunek is a UFA at seasons end as well, which frees up another 1.8 million. If he resigns he def. does not deserve that much money and the Rangers should only resign him if he takes a pay cut.
Well if it were me Malik would be sitting the next one out. I'd rather have Pöck and Girardi in the lineup. Pöck can at least skate well and he moves the puck very quickly. I don't think he should be sitting.
You guys know darn well that Malik wont be sitting, neither will any other vet d-man. It will be Pock and Girardi switching in and out of the lineup for eachother.
