Voted Pyatt. Love his game, and definitely think he should go ahead of Cliche, he was much more impressive then Cliche in the WJCs. Plays great defense and has offense to back it up as well.

I know Pyatt and Cliche are having good seasons but the way my list runs it's Dupont at 9. Pyatt at 10 and Cliche at 11. So it's Dupont and add Russell.

Why Dupont over Cliche? I don't think there's a single thing that Dupont can do that Cliche can't do equally as well or better. Cliche is SO vastly underrated just because he was a 2nd round pick, IMO. A lot of people think he's a cookie cutter prospect. He's one of the best guys we have right now.

I voted Dupont as well and I have to admit that it's because of the type of player he COULD be if everything comes together. From HF:

Quote:
With the same pit bull attitude as that of Ladd, Dupont emerged not only as a fan favorite on the ice, but also garnered attention from scouts in the crowd as well. With a fearless physical attitude and continued improvement in offensive skills, the St Lazare, Manitoba native should be an attractive choice come draft day.

Talent Analysis

Scout #1: Hes very strong around the net, physically very strong, has great balance, not a really fast skater but powerful. Hes not dynamic offensively but when hes in front of the net and hes in position with the puck he can put it in. When he checks, hes got so much power in his lower body that he goes right through you. I wouldnt argue with him being a second round pick.

And this is the latest on Marc-Andre:

http://hockeysfuture.com/articles/9398

The key is the last line of the article, which makes it sound a lot like he's developing into a Jan Erixon clone.

Quote:
I see him eventually playing a checking role on our teams third line," concluded Maloney.
Don't get me wrong, a Jan Erixon clone is a damn fine player - and based on his play in the QMJHL he appears to have more offensive upside than he displayed at the world juniors, BUT... I'm just a lot more intrigued by the 6'2" 206 center who is scoring at about the same clip and is described as hitting THROUGH people.

Honestly, given that it seems to me the 3 that eco's mentioned are pretty close it has more to do with what I think the system is lacking than anything else.

I have the feeling Dupont moves to LW in the NHL. He's already played LW on Calgary's top line with Ryan White. The impression I get about Dupont is that he's got some Adam Graves in him

I don't see the 2nd line in Cliche's NHL future like some do. He's got offensive talent but I don't really see it coming out much in the pro level. He'll be a great role player like Pyatt and both play the defensive side extremely well, but I see Pyatt's offense coming out more then Cliche's.

Both though i'm extremely excited for because both should make the NHL and be players then current 3rd and 4th liners we have now.

Too old for what? To be considered a prospect? He's a prospective NHL player... doesn't that make him a prospect? The skills seem to be there.

No site would consider him a prospect still. Hes 28 or something. He's just property at this point...that's all.

It's common in baseball or basketball to have players in other leagues considered prospects once they become the property of other teams, regardless of their age. Why is hockey different? I suppose he'd be ineligible for the Calder, so I guess that backs up what you're saying. But who am I to argue? It's your list .

I just go by HFs criteria for a prospect...so blame them
