Found out I have to get a root canal; I'm terrified, to say the least. Have had teeth pulled before, but I don't think I had the conventional procedures. Had a lot of infections post procedure. Oh well.

Sounds unpleasant. I haven't had a root canal yet .
Good luck.

Had 2. Unpleasant, but they will numb you to the max. You can expect a sore jaw and tender surgical area. you will be on meds for a few days to stem infection. Sometimes the prescribe a rinse.

Sorry for your pain....and anxiety.

ask for meds. theres no reason to be in pain

Good luck. No personal experience with this but agree with Kovi in that if you can get pain killers....get them.

Thanks guys; it's scheduled for this coming Tuesday...at least one positive is that the B's play that day. Probably will have to take some anxiety meds beforehand (I have terrible anxiety...GAD sucks), if they will let me.

Nice.

Do you ever get out to Plum Island when a storm is coming ? I know you have taken some nice photos there.

I have often thought about heading out there to see the sea and sky during a storm.

It has changed so much since I was a child. The ocean is very powerful and has done much damage to Plum Island.

My family often went there in the Summer (many years ago) so I have often found myself returning to visit. A few years ago I got up early one winter morning and drove down that dirt road to the end. I love seeing all of the birds and animals.

My sister (an artist) went with me last year and may return to do some painting.

Your photo is lovely. April 12th is too far away for me to plan now but I may just try and get there

One of the Finns I met, Kim Miettinen, is on the eliteprospects site. I could be friends with a future NHL'er right now

Went to Plum Island once on the night of my birthday. Feb....late 70's, maybe 1980?

All along the shore there were thousands, if not millions of ice balls about the size of candlepin bowling balls.

Never saw that before or since.....

was it chemically induced?

I didn't find it bad at all,had 2,both took 3 appointments I think. The anticipation of pain is much worse than the pain that really never came.

Question. I aw this raffle on twitter. Have they always put tax info on these things and I just missed it--or is it a new law or something?

http://www.netraffle.org/raffle/index.php?rid=469

Grand Prize:

Winner and 3 guests will sit in Milan Lucic's private suite as the Boston Bruins take on the Montreal Canadiens, Thursday, January 30th at 7:00 PM
Winner and 3 guests will be treated to in-suite food and beverages
Winner and 3 guests will meet Milan Lucic post game for photos and autographs
Winner will be awarded a cash prize in the amount of $465.50 to mitigate the winner's tax liability that results from winning the raffle. This prize is withheld and paid, on behalf of the winner, directly to the Internal Revenue Service ($392.00) and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts ($73.50). CFC reserves the right to adjust the value of this prize item depending on the actual value of prizes received

That's a drag. I'm sure Joe will chime in with his take, but just so you know, he means something very, very different when he talks about getting drilled in the mouth...

Sorry Glory, it was too easy and I couldn't resist.

As others have said, I think you'll find the anxiety worse than the procedure and aftermath.

As long as I'm doing the drilling, it's all good. You just have to make sure that suction tool is working, otherwise it gets real messy with the patient being unconscious an all

In all seriousness, I have gotten a root canal and didn't think it was a big deal.
