You spent 7000 dollars on a team? Is it club or something?

Please, if he's playing beer league it doesn't cost that much. Only something like a travel or club team cost that much (even Junior B leagues don't cost that much).

Basically half way through the year and my team is now 7 and 2. Looking pretty good, I had to miss my game last night thanks to the flu but the my team picked up a 9-5 win. I'm hoping to ramp up my game for the second half of the season

Yesterday I played in two games. 0p, 2PIMs across both games, probably +2. I'm playing pretty well, but I am ice, ice cold when it comes to scoring these days. I've been cold all season, and it's gotten to the point where I no longer expect to score.

And that's why you don't score. Think positively, rehearse mentally how you'll score and put shots on goal. It'll come eventually.

Today, won another game 5-0. Since the beginning of the season, our team remains undefeated (13 wins, 1 tie). We have 74 goals for, and only 12 goals against. Goalie has 7 shutouts. This is getting beyond ridiculous.
Haven't found the back of the net in 4 games, I moved to center after playing on the wings forever. My coach described my 2 way game as "stunning", so I'll take that.
Stats so far : 2 goals and 15 assists in 14 games.

I decided that at season's end Im going to buy new gear.

Im slimming down and would like to upgrade stuff.

Only things Im still happy with is my pants, shins, and mitts.

I want to upgrade to a better fitting helmet. And one of the few that does fit my BIG dome is the Bauer Reakt.. perfectly too. Plus you cant really beat the protection so Im def looking to purchase that in the future. Also, I want to get into Refereeing, so i'd use my current 4500 for that and slap a visor on it. So I wouldnt have to keep swapping the cage on and off.

As i said, Ive been slimming down slowly but surely, and I should go down a size now. Im thinking CCM Crazy Lights.

Elbow pads slip. Its getting kind of annoying now. No idea what Im going with. But I do love the Bauer Strapping system cause its comfortable but thats what I have now and obv it cant really stay in place for long.

Sticks - Honestly, who doesn't want better hockey sticks? I havent upgraded from my Dolos from a couple of yrs. Although, I had like 2/3 back ups that I bought on closeout.. Id like to try the newer stuff. REALLY want to try the DT1LT.

But yeah..

I scored my first hockey goal in a game. Just took the puck from the boards to the front of the net shot it and chased down the rebound to tie the game. Hopefully more to come..

Congrats! Don't replay it in your head too many times.

Or do, what do I care?

3g2a in a 7-1 romp. It was against one of my best friends in net, I seem to always get the better of him. I was stymied until the final minute of the 2nd period, hitting about 3-4 posts and having the puck sit right on the line unable to be poked in a few times, but once that first one went in the points kept coming.

Ah, I thought he meant individual player cost; not the team cost.

My bad!

$7,395 for 20 games plus playoffs that we never make. Tack on another $925 for the fall tournament that we got our butts kicked in and another $1,500 or so for coached practices and scrimmages this summer.

Nice work! I did the same thing a couple years after playing.

Good call on having a spare helmet. I have a Reebok 4k that I use for coaching and my main is an Easton E700 with a Reakt cage. I wouldn't get too hung up on worrying about protection though, all helmets pass the same certification so it's more about comfort.

People have been raving about the CCM protective stuff. IMO, try on everything in the store that you can.

I can tell you the new Warrior stuff is really good. I wasn't thrilled with their stuff from 2-3 years ago but the newer Covert stuff is solid. I have a DT2 from last year and just picked up a DT4 LT last weekend. Obviously the DT4 is a price point and I wouldn't buy it for a main stick, but I think the DT1 and DT2 should be excellent. The weight, balance, and puck feel are phenomenal.

$8,120 per team at the Toyota Sports Center (or $595 per individual player): 20 games plus top 4 teams in playoffs.

Toyota's an awesome rink but soo expensive. $15 for sticktime is too much, but they still get me to pay it.

Finished making a stickhandling trainer today.

1x 4' x 3" board
15x pucks
Gorilla Glue

I also have another piece of the same board in case I want to make another/slightly lower one (this one is a little higher to allow for my Smart Ball).

Oh and I also signed up for a novice hockey league starting in February, so I'm excited for that.

ASHL out here is $11,250 for the winter season. Though that's 28 games + 2 guaranteed playoffs. Still a big chunk of change.
