as much as i hated the guy while he was here, would he do worse than Rachunek? we could use the toughness. how has he played with the pack?

Rachunek has been fine. Whats with the hate on him? The first month he was adjusting to the NHL level again, since for the past 2-3 months he's been fine.

Remember, Dale had problems playing D in the OLD NHL. I think he would be way out of his league now.

i dont think he's been fine. he is just there. just like the other 5. we need impact at this position and purington might bring it on the physical side.

Dale was mean, but he couldn't throw hit to save his life. He's going to really have to catch someone sleeping to hit them.

The only reason I'd ever welcome him back is because he really loved being here and loved the team. I mean, as much as we hate him the dude bleeds blue.

Dont get me wrong...I loved the tenacity he used to play with for us. But I really just see him as a downgrade to our D-fense.

I also don't understand the anti-rachunek sentiment. Sure he's struggled at times, but no more than any other defenseman.

And I wouldn't want Purinton on this team, even if someone paid us to play him.

Dale Purinton is nowhere near an NHL defenseman.

I believe Dale still has some of his 10-game suspension to serve.

cant he be that much worse than Malik. Both are slow, at least Purinton goes nuts on someone if someone goes near Lundqvist. Malik skates away like a *****. If Purinton would replace Malik im all for it, but that would be the only reason.

Dale's one good day was behind him 5 years ago, he is lightyears away from NHL ability.

got to be able to skate to hit--Dale's physical play all comes down to throwing punches which isn't bad but he's a penalty taking machine.

Dale Purinton

Like most here I haven't seen anything from him over the past several years that he could make the team. Great guy however lack of speed and compulsive penalties couldn't help us now. I think it's good he is in Hartford, he can show some of the younger guys toughness and pride. JMHO, beat Flyers, two points (new NHL 1 plus points) at a time.

No Gracias, he couldnt keep up with the play with the former rules, there is no way he will keep up with the likes of Gionta and St. Louis now.

I think posters that continue to raise the notion of bringing Purinton up to the Rangers should be banned from this forum and subjected to electric shock therapy.

Just kidding.

Sort of.

Dale was the man but he would look lost up here.I think it's best if he stays down there.
