And good OT win for Edmonton.

Moneyball!

Pretty accurate as far as the Leafs go. And you know what? It's not going to get much better with all that money poured into talentless plug Clarkson and most overrated player in league Phaneuf. Last year's playoffs was their HIGH point.

Jets are a lost cause for the Jets.

It's almost as if there's some type of mystical force that exists between the Rockies and Thunder Bay that prevents anything good from happening north of the border the past half decade.

I've believed that myself in many other non-hockey respects. I would do anything to get out of this place.

The Jets are easy to diagnose though. A significant portion of that team doesn't want to be there. They can say all the right things in front of the microphone but it's the truth. Winnipeg is a small city with basically zero things to recommend it to someone with millions of dollars. There's guys there who will demand a trade sometime in the next calendar year and more that wish they had the cahoneys to.

As for the Flames, they just have no talent whatsoever. The team was destroyed by Sutter. They had the absolute worst team building philosophy the league has seen since Mike Smith thought the secret to winning was maximum Russians. They'll be bad for years.

And the Oilers? Lots of talent, no supporting cast, no desire, no coaching, no defense, no goaltending. Hall is a headcase who will demand out of Edmonton at some point, Yakupov is another Semin. But they'll be better sooner than the Flames will be.

I dont know why i'am am here but anyhow. Do we always start like this? We hade a great start last year and this year but before that we had 4 straight seasons were we were pretty bad for the first 2-3 months. Good starts are not really our thing. We usually play our best hockey from February and beyond if you look at the last five season.

Just my opinion but I think when fans of a team see another team as a threat to their team they have their interest peaked. I know personally i tend to look at most blues and ducks threads and its usually through a negative eye.

The ducks are playing great hockey and i don't really want to see them in the playoffs because of it.

Think of it as a kind of sub-conscious insecurity/interest lol

Speaking of the Jets, Dreger's saying that Noel's been fired.

Apparently Paul Maurice is the replacement

No surprise that Noel's been canned, though I was honestly expecting them to just wait out the rest of the season and can him before the first game of playoffs/first round of Jets postseason golf started.

Although I still remember somewhat humorously an active conversation in Winnipeg media and fan circles over which team they'd prefer to relocate, and older but already playoff-ready Coyotes team that was likely peaking or an up-and-coming, youthful Thrashers squad that was likely close to being a playoff team.

Chuckle a tiny bit looking back on that.

See a problem with this picture?

Hint: It was during OT.

No penalty called.

Buffalo ended up winning, so no harm, no foul, I guess.

Miller was such a beast in that game. He better be Team USA's #1 goalie over Quick.

I'm going to miss Noel in the Central. They do have some talent so the right coach might make them a little dangerous before the injury train rips through them again.

Dale getting the green light to spend. I think they should spend half the budget increase to buy him some help and somebody to hold the keys before letting Dale spend in a dangerous next 2 offseasons. Too many moving parts in Florida, I hope ownership is careful.

Maybe there will be some movement after the olympics. The injuries are probably playing hell with front offices' ability to plan and manage the cap.

I'll be rooting for Miller until the day he likely gets traded to the Blues.

They've drafted a few nice players the past couple of years. Should have at least two or three more guys on the way in the next year or two. I like Morrissey a lot on D. Think he's gonna be good one.

So... if you have the means to watch the Nucks/Kings game, you might want to start doing so.

It's a good'un.
