Renney in Newsday

On Dan Girardi:

"very steady, has a good first pass, his positional play is real good,". "I don't know if safe is the right word, but he's certainly very reliable. I think we've got a guy who can help us. If I can put Tommy [Pock] and Danny together, that's appealing. So is Toots [Tyutin] and Danny together"

I for one like the sound of that because we'd be getting a look at what could perhaps be one of the pairs that we'll have in the long term future..

Two things have to happen though. Renney has to do more then just talk about these scenarios and actually put these guys together..After that he needs to actually give them ice time.. once he does that he needs to show a little patience and faith in the idea. If Girardi makes a mistake or is on the ice for a goal in Philly that doesn't mean it's time to send him back and talk about how Rachunek has to step up..If the vetrans get to screw up there needs to be some margin for error when it comes to using rookies that can help in the long run. Let's just hope Girardi makes enough of an impact to take a permanent spot..

I just hope he plays well the first game, cause if not people will already be crucifying him, Renney, Sather, his linemates, Chief Ryan, Sam Rosen's hairstylist, Rosie O'donnell, Per Djoos, Larry Sloman, Bruce Bell, etc

Don't forget Donald Trump, Ted Saskin and Howie Mandell...though I'd kinda like to see Mandell get his....

The pairings sound good, now let's see if Renney will stick to it and give him some time.

Per Djoos would never slander!

I was glad reading that article also. Pock is steadily growing as a player. I would be very happy if we could turn over two D spots to rookies in one season (Pock and Girardi).

Well it looks like Pock is sitting anyways!

Though it was said, by Brooks I think, that even if Pock sits for Girardi on Saturday, it's not indicative that Girardi is taking his spot over someone else on the teams.

Meaning that if Girardi plays well, it's still likely that Pock gets back into the lineup at the expense of someone else.

2 Young players on defense in the same game is WAYYYY to much for the Rangers.
