Not every team will be as stoooopid and undisciplined as the Flyers. I could hardly believe what a bunch of idiots they were. The Rangers outplayed them and beat them fair and square, though, that was what was so sweet.
I always hated Carcillo, not because he was a pest (a team is severely lacking without some kind of sandpaper, and I was/am a huge Avery fan, that won't change) but because he was a dirty player.

Clean slate for him from me while he is a Ranger, though. Very effective game from him last night. I hope he can weigh in on the plus side of the ledger as things go on.

Far superior? Similar offensive production if given a full year playing. 20 pt players the both of them.

Carcillo adds cup team experience. He's a slightly better fighter. He's a little bigger. He's a better agitator. And he adds more energy.

I don't know if I would call him a cupcake. Meisha Tate's a cupcake and she'd duke him up. I would call him a giant pillow though.

Seriously though...He's probably the softest big guy in the league right now.

This. And it isn't due to a lack of trying...it's due to balance issues. The same ones that spike the "he falls down alot!!" posts.

Carcillo is the shiny new toy for a lot of people.

He'll be out of the lineup in under a month.

Boyle should stay in the lineup. He provides smart, disciplined play and is a great PKer.

Dorsett and Carcillo can provide a spark, but they are both dumb players as far as Im concerned. If you put them both in the lineup, theres more of a chance of something stupid happening.

He didn't play a terrible game last game. If he stays out of the box and does his thing effectively, he can be useful.

Don't say that. The guy can't fight, lots of guys can't fight, the majority of NHLers aren't good fighters. He goes all out every night, and puts his body on the line.

There's a missing element in his game that's keeping him from earning a few million dollars, but it's disrespectful to call him soft after how many shots he blocks, hits he throws, and drops them for the sake of the team.

Guys taken a few beatings for the Blueshirts.

Yeah I like the spark he brought. His ****-talking on the end of the bench had the fans going for a while. I don't think he is an everyday player with Dorsett back.

Truth be told, as big of a proponent of toughness I am, this team could rock a forward line up of 1A, 2A, 2B, and 3A with Miller centering the 4th line with Boyle and Moore. But more teams would pull a Philly, and start antagonizing the Rangers.

Is that why he threw the gloves vs Chara ? You can say what you want about Boyle, but he stands up for his teammates when he can. You just have to see the last match to see proof of that. I dont really care that he's not a good fighter, lots of tall men in the NHL arent equipped to throw fists. Size is not the only go to factor in a enforcer.

This is true, but I don't think it's very likely to happen.

He's playing on adrenaline, with a sense of desperation. He has gone from being scratched regularly to being traded for the lowest possible thing you can trade (save for "future considerations"); he's likely playing for his career right now.

I don't think his play will continue. He's a dirty player, and one who's prone to dumb penalties. Yes, he's an agitator, yes it was nice watching the flyers chase him around the rink, but I don't expect that to continue.

His effectiveness will dovetail, he'll get his face punched in a few more times, and I'll be thrilled to see him retire after being assigned to Hartford.

He's a stopgap while Dorsset is out. His "shiny new toy" popularity will wane with his first game costing penalty.

U people are blind Boyle does not stick up for anyone...The only time he drops the gloves is when he's already been hit 5 times...He will drop the gloves as a last resort after taking a small early beating then he has no choice but to drop the gloves...Sure he will jump in after the whistle and grab someone but has zero intention of fighting...As fAR AS HIS BALENCE GOES? What horsecrap....He is afraid to open up and exchange punches it has nothing to do with balence

To be fair, there few players in the entire league that open up and exchange. Shawn Thornton is a serial hugger and will only open up against someone smaller like Dorsett. Many like him in the NHL. Boyle just doesn't have any fighting skill, it doesn't make him soft.

look at Boyle hanging on for life by someone who is 5 inches shorter than you. Boyle is not soft. he is just a weak giant...

here he sticks up for teammates but again loses another fight.

Boyle is quite possibly the toughest player on the team.

He is willing to stick up for his team. He just can't fight.

But that isn't really a knock in my opinion. I'd rather a guy who is one of the best Pk'ers in the league than a goon
