Dale Purinton is a cheap shot loser ... I don't even like the idea that he is wasting a roster spot in Hartford. He is a complete coward. (where's the chicken-dance smiley face? hehe)

I lost respect for Purinton some not-so-sportsmanlike episodes, like....

- Gouging current Ranger Colton Orr in pre-season earning him a 10 game suspension.

- His tendency to begin fights before the other guy was ready. (Cairns, Doull)

- Turtling on Cairns. What an embarassment.

I used to like Dale but that garbage started to bother me and I was liking him less and less.

Oh yes, about bringing him up now... he was a borderline player in the clutch-n-grab NHL. I think he'd be pretty near useless on this team.

All the other stuff aside, you're right. He was a marginal player in the "Old NHL" but with the guy plays he'd now be on a steady shuttle to the penalty box. Dale's also 31 so it's hard to say there's anything of an upside there.

I think the only impact Purinton would have at this point is a huge increase in the GA stat.

Campbell has never gotten over the Rangers firing him. He does not need any excuse to bring scrutiny to the Rangers.

What??!? Purinton is no where near Rachunek. Shouldnt even be compared. Not that Rachunek is great, its just that Purinton sucked and costed the team games. I would trade Purinton for a draft pick of any kind if i could. But no one would do such a stupid thing.

Ehh may not hurt as an occasional dman or emergency defenseman but nothing more. As many have said...the ultimate true Ranger. Loved his little feud with Cairns...but I'm not sure he and Orr would get along

I don't think you would ever see the Rangers using two roster spots for these two at the same time. That being said, if we call Dale up to play D, we got issues...
