JaZZ line had a couple JaZZ line shifts tonight. That stretch midway through the 3rd was pretty impressive.

And btw people wanted to kill Pete for surreptitously criticizing the Jagr line after a few off games, their play tonight was certainly a step back in the right direction it must be said.

But was it a "kicking" motion? I thought it should be a goal. At least under current rules.

I think it might be fair to say the Kings play a really good system. We don't play that great of a system, aside from allowing the least amount of shots.

This Olympics is really gonna tell us A LOT about Jonathan Quick. Marty proved he was good without the Devils in big game situations like the 02 Olympics and winning the gold for Canada. Let's see what happens with Quick.

I thought Jagr especially looked like he was playing with more jump.

That line was misquoted. In the article Pete said the effort is there, but whoever posted it in here earlier had him saying the effort isn't there.

I forgot to point that out earlier.

JAZZ line will be so much better once we have two other lines that don't just suck. Clowe-Henrique-Ryder line looks good (someone got to figure out a nickname for that line shortly). If we find a 3rd line to work with Elias then we will be golden.

That's another one (Halak was playing at a high level early in the year, then fell off and Elliott stepped up)...but there's also the Hitch system to factor in. Maybe the Kings are system-based too.

Did he pull back his foot and kick it in NO Did he follow through with his motion and basically push it through YES

It was obviously so close that Toronto Gave the NJ Devils the call.

We actually have a +1 goal differential but it says -6 on the standings because we lost 7 shootouts.

I hope they keep this play up then they can finally grasp onto a playoff spot.

#NJDevils have now collected points in a season-high five straight games (3-0-2).

Good, yet sad. Season high is only five games...

Yea cause the extra goal you get from winning the shootout counts.

ya but the sad thing is the shootout might kill us because that's 0 out 7 points and who knows what they will do in upcoming shootouts. So the way to fix that is getting a lot of row wins and if they play like this they should be able to.

I miss the 11-12 season where it basically meant if we went to the shootout we would win.

NewfieRico is an alright name for that line. I can probably do better if I tried a little bit.

Johnyrocket says no, but can anyone else confirm they don't count the goals against that you get from losing a shootout? If we have the lowest goals against in the league (Shootout goals against not counting) would we win the Jennings? Or do they count all the goals against for every shootout we lose?

That would suck if we got screwed out of the Jennings that way.
