Do you think Sundin could be the answer to our offensive problem? He's still talented and can play centre. He's a UFA and is in better physical shape then Forsberg. He'd also probably come cheaper then Forsberg, but do we want to trade with the Leafs?
Do you actually think Toronto is going to trade thier captain to the Montreal Canadiens.
Well, if they believe the season is over for them they could trade him and sign him again in the off season like Pittsburgh did with Recchi. He looks like a hero because he made a sacrifice and come to the Habs so Toronto can get some young talented player or pick.
Sundin's situation is different since the Leafs have the option on his contracts next year. That alone makes him way more expensive than Forsberg. He would be great in a Habs uni however.
Sundin is a great player but what would we give up for him? How would we find the cap space? And as others have mentioned I doubt the Leafs would trade him to the Habs.

No doubt he would be an answer to our offensive problems! I would trade for Sundin over almost any other veteran in the league. He has always been a player I have admired. He is a true leader, and an amazing player that has the ability to take over a game with his speed and skill. There is no way the Leafs will trade Sundin though - they would be stupid to do so. Even if they did want to trade him there is NO way they would trade him to the Habs. I think Sundin will retire a Leaf!
