I agree about Demers. I meant he did his job well in that he knows how to relate to his audience and tells them more or less what they want to hear. A qualified hockey populist, if you will, unlike Chantelois who is simply a blow hard. That's what he gets paid for. No one on RDS's broadcast team provides any real hockey analysis like a Bobby Mac on TSN, for example.
They need Danny Dubé. It's that simple. He used to provide analysis on the french network "TVA". It was a morning variety show a la NBC's "The Today Show". And being a former coach and University graduate he would explain things that most of us hadn't seen and with great enthousiasm and energy. He was always interesting. And he looked professional too.
I don't know if I would put him to replace Pednault but at least I would like to see him during Habs games between periods at RDS. That would be stellar.
Frankly it's time for Demers to retire from hockey broadcasting and maybe give him his own show where he would talk his unusal non-sens. A not too serious country club-type show where guys would just have fun.
