Good, yet sad. Season high is only five games...
Lets keep rolling, Marty & Cory trading wins!

Oh and by the way, I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've been two games above NHL 500 all year!

And only two points out of second in the division! Going to be a close race.

The goaltending has been really for the most part rock solid.
That's coming up in 3 games imo - Blues. Halak and Elliott are lights out.

More importantly.... Now 1 point behind both the Rags and Laffs for one of the playoff spots.

We need to keep winning......

We need to get this point streak going. An 11 or 12 gamer at least. That is a start. Also finally get over 3 games in a row won.

I'm tempering my expectations for Thursday since Colorado is exactly the type of team who could maim us. Young, fast teams with a lot of skill, like them, give us absolute fits. Saturday is very winnable since Smith has been doing a 2013 Hedberg impersonation lately but we seem to always struggle out there so I wouldn't get cocky about that one. Hopefully were fully healthy for the St. Louis game since that's one that could get ugly for us.

Really, as long as they keep racking up points, they should be in good shape heading into the Olympic break.

Smith is the kind of goalie that has been giving this team fits for years. Huge wall of pads goalie. We haven't played too many of them this year though, other than Lindback who is ****in terrible. This team doesn't seem to strike me as a team that struggles against the wall of pads guys like the two years before this, as much as they just struggle to score period.

I think we can pull out a win against colorodo. They had a battle tonight with Chicago. Hopefully they are a little bit worn down come thursday. Either way I will be happy with 2 wins out of the next three. For the most part we have been competitive this year against the cup contending teams.

Solid team win, I just hope the Devils didn't bore those Montreal fans. They're such great knowledgeable fans and I know they only appreciate the game when their team wins.

A pretty good game overall for us. Happy to see things go our way for once. That Gallagher goal was borderline, IMO it should have counted. I don't care though, it worked out for us! Gotta keep on rolling here, things are looking good the last few weeks, we have to keep this up.

I still don't get the doge thing but whatever works. The GDT was the best I've seen in a long time.

Really? Care to explain? Do you say that from a rules perspective (not clearly called out per the rules) or from a hockey philosophy perspective (don't mind kicked/deflected goals at all)?

I personally think if the skate is moving towards the net at all to propel the puck into the net (wouldn't have gone in if not for the foot motion) then it should be disallowed. The only exception is a stopping motion by the player where the puck never changes angle/direction. Stationary skates deflecting pucks in would count of course as well. I just think there's too much intent allowed to use the foot to score a goal period the way the rule is now. "distinct kicking motion" should be "any motion propelling the puck to the net" imo. It would eliminate a lot of the gray area and get rid of some of the double standard where you can find a "good goal" that was allowed that looks worse than some that were disallowed.

But then I'd get rid of the damn loser point, trapezoid, and delay of game for puck over the glass rules too and institute a 1 pt for shootout win, and have a faceoff in your own zone a man short rather than a penalty for a puck over the glass.

Question - now that you've got two solid lines going, where does Elias fit when he comes back? Who for linemates?

I wanted to talk about Fayne's game as well. He's in a groove now and I was thinking while watching how well he was pinching. Also, he's getting a lot more looks from the circle. He's moving his legs more than he was.

Clowe, what can you say? The guy can pass and is probably the best passer on the line and he's gotten Henrique going. That line was dynamite tonight.

I truly believe Lou needs to find a spot for Larsson. I'm tired of watching forwards continue to skate around Salvador even when he has the angle.

Probably more than that, maybe around 120+

The amazing part of that Gelly shot for me is how little his body rotates/moves as he takes the shot. It's not a big violent motion with him super rotating his torso to generate the power and nearly falling down in the process like some guys we've seen. So little motion, so little wasted and so much power. I mean his left skate barely even leaves the ice. So many guys have the big leg kick and fall as the weight shifts to the outside foot but he's stable.

*chills* When I think what he could become for us with a little time and TLC for his defensive play.
