Tampa's in play for a future WJC, too, if I'm not mistaken. Hosted the Frozen Four and was a real good success from what I understand.

That's going to be such a great draft.

Some guys just aren't a fit

For some reason Frolik didn't fit in Hawks offensive attack ,, He looks more like his Florida self this year offensively

Ooh... I'd be interested, of course.... though hopefully not for Teravainen.

Yeah I think it's safe to say TT isn't going anywhere at this point.

No thanks on Ladd. Don't need him, he would cost too much and the Hawks don't have the cap room for him. My guess is that JJ is trying to generate some hits on his blog.

Getting Ladd back would be pretty awesome. Seems extremely unlikely though.

Don't really need any wingers. Bickell for him maybe. I think Ladd kills penalties.

I'm on board with this deal. I'd like the Jets to eat some of that cap hit just because they don't need it and we do. I'd add to make that part happen. Imagine having Ladd signed long term for a 2.25M cap hit? You'll start hearing fans of other teams calling the NHL rigged. I'd love that.

I love Ladd to death, and I think the consensus among knowledgeable fans is that he was our biggest loss after the 2010 campaign. We need a gameplan for the center ice position the rest of this season before worrying about wing depth. However, getting Ladd would rule. I must add, though, that TT may be a late-season, top-six reinforcement and obviously has the chance to groom into the stud center Kane deserves.

Maybe revisit Saad to center.

I see that the front office montra of "every forward can play center" has spilled over to the fan base.

Let the kid be groomed as a dynamite winger. He has the hockey IQ and sense plus the natural ability to be fantastic.

Even though we love Ladder, our like long-term 2C fix is gone if we upgrade at wing. Is that really what we should do?

No, I don't share that philosophy but I'm also not putting Saad on the third line if Ladd is on the roster. Someone would have to move to center.

Good post. We shouldn't let our affection for a former Cup champ get in the way of what is right for winning Stanley Cups in the future.

That doesn't even get in to Ladd's salary possibly making some guys harder to retain (like Brandon Saad for instance).

Well, per this article, if Bickell was going the other way that salary would just about be a wash.

i think that's a bit of a cheapshot - Saad is great on the wing of course but I absolutely think he has the tools to be an effective center as well.

Saying Saad is a dynamic winger who shouldn't be messed with is a cheap shot?

According to TSN, Ben Scrivens has been traded to EDM from LA, for a 3rd round pick.

^^ interesting.

I'm surprised a 3rd is all LA could get.

edit - nvm, he's a ufa at the end of the season so the value isn't bad for la, i guess

We have won 2 cups without a proper #2C, they'll be fine.

I would be meh on that deal, would love to get Ladd back, but tough at the expense of TT.
