All these deals that fell together make sense now.

I like both. Approved.

Scrivens: 25gp .900sv%

Cant understand why we wouldn't have traded Dubnyk for a pick tho.

Hendricks salary sucks
It's not great, but he's an upgrade to the bottom-6 and the 4th center spot.

I just like the change of blood and a goalie with a fresh start. Not a bad day. Hope Duby does good things, but in another league

Upgrade to the bottom six

Upgrade in net

All we lose is a third

people are complaining, and they are the same people who wail and moan for mact/tambo for sitting on their hands

and they are the same people who should not be taken seriously

Haha!

Jokes aside if he's looking for a place to be a #1 goalie we are the preferred destination

Eakins desperate for a player who had listened to him at one point and may do so again.

Does this help you at all? Scrivens for Dubnyk is a wash. But you paid a 3rd round pick for Hendricks who is a 32 year old 4th liner with a 1.85M cap hit to 2017.

We got the worst forward from the team with the worst forwards in the league signed for 4 years at 1.8 and a backup for Bryzgalov for Dubnyk at half salary and a 3rd. kill me

We have nothing to lose. It's worth a try. Hope Scrivens proves he's a #1 here.

wasted the 3rd on a pending UFA career backup goalie.

We need a started for the future.. not a backup goalie who willl bolt after the season..

MacT shouldve waited a day or 2 to let other GMs make a pitch for their goalies knowing we just traded away Dubey... The had to be better goalie options...

What was Dubnyk's sv% last season?

Toronto was a playoff team last season.

Hope he isn't the plan for future starter though.
They made a move forward today. Dubnyk and a 3rd, which they would've screwed up to begin with for Scrivens (who has a chance Dubnyk doesnt) and a very serviceable bottom six guy.

I dont have a problem with the move at all.

This could be a huge deal, Scrivens is a howntown boy who has links with Eakins. If he signs longterm, could be the solution for us for a while.

Just so we can all follow along.

Over the course of the last 7 months, MacT:

- Tried trading for Bernier and Schneider
- Went after Raanta, the top UFA goalie out of Europe
- Traded down in the 2nd once Fucale was taken
- Signed Backman and Labarbera early in free agency
- Traded Smid+ for Brossoit+
- Signed Pickard
- Signed Bryzgalov
- Traded Labarbera to Chicago
- Traded Dubnyk
- Traded for Scrivens

That's got to be some kind of record.

I'm willing to bet Scrivens can catch a muffin from the red line...

Given our drafting history after the first round, is it really a waste? Sheesh

.921 in 38GMs.

If anyone remembers, we were probably the worst we had ever been 5 on 5 with Krueger when it came to being out shot every single game as well.

Dubnyk had a bad year, and he paid the consequences. We moved him for a "maybe".
