And I think I saw Rachunek in there, too. I know it's a small step, but at least we didn't just skate off to the bench after getting roughed up like we usually do. I could tolerate the losing if we at least didn't get pushed around every night.
Nice scrum at the end thanx to Richards. Kappinen and Cullen take coincidentals. NY had 17 shots on goal and 5 pp's but can't score. Need to play better.

I think we played pretty well, we just couldn't finish. Easily coulda been 3-0. Although, I guess finishing is part of playing well, so, there you go .
Did the Flyers get any quality scoring chances in that period?
That one, where we couldn't clear at the blueline and Girardi nailed that Flyer into Henke after Henke made a big stop down low. It led to the :03 Flyers PP IIRC.

Yeah, once a shorthanded rush...the 2nd was when Ward shanked the pass twice leading to a turnover..where henrik stopped it with no stick! Also...when a lone guy was in front of our net and GRITTY Girardi handled him.
Renney is just unbelievable...Jagr, Shanny, Nylander, and Straka had way too much PP time. Those guys are gonna tire out as the game goes on because they were out on the ice so much. It's obvious that first PP unit needs a change. Renney has no problem with changing our even strength lines every freakin period but when it comes to our first PP unit, he's gotta keep those four on. Shanny hasn't scored in how long!?! Get him off the first unit and put Prucha on. The kid plays with such energy and deserves more icetime. I'm sick of seeing Renney doing everything backwards...
I know everyone loves Shanny but he's not getting the job done. I don't care how many times he hits the post or how he came close to scoring. It's about finishing and he's not doing that.
I'm sick of seeing Renney trying to pat Shanny on the back and get him motivated. He's been in this league a long time and knows what to do on the ice, he shouldn't need motivation. Instead, Renney should be telling him that this team needs him to produce or else they won't be winning games. Seriously, a little added pressure on a veteran won't hurt anybody.

I agree, I think that we ought to give the 2nd PP unit a couple long looks the rest of the game. The 1st unit did nothing in terms of producing goals in about 6 minutes each, so we ought to give some other guys a shot to see if they can get something working.
