Agreed, doesn't help that Zanon didn't have a very good game, either.

I'm not sure about Hamhuis and whether or not he's out for tomorrow.

Amazing how Chicago, one of the most penalized teams in the league, managed to only receive one penalty, a double minor, the entire hockey game! You don't expect any team to do that, especially not one who's a penalty fest away from leading the league in times shorthanded.

He's a great skater. Better speed than anyone else on the Preds defense right now with the possible exception of Suter. I still can't believe he's not on the every day roster but Zanon is. I guess Trotz really feels we need size that badly?

Notice they don't get any penalities after last game when Savard went off on the refs.

If that's the case, limit his time to the PK and give him goon-like ES ice time. Trotz is so hellbent on keeping a relatively even distribution of ice time amongst his defensemen. But honestly, does anyone here not think you couldn't slice Zanon's ES time in half and distribute it fairly amongst the rest of the defense?

He lead the team in TOI tonight.

He's serviceable but he should never lead this group.

Zanon is probably the weakest player on the ice at even strength on the Predators. He is an excellent penalty killer, but really, this is all he brings to the table. He gets down and block shots where others would not. Personally, I think Klein is much better. Kevin was ready to play last year. He is ready to play this year. If we aren't going to give him time, we are just going to end up trading him for pennies on the dollar. The kid has a load of talent. Just about the only thing you could question about him is his instincts, which for the most part are good.

Good game for Vokoun.

I thought the call on Hamhuis was bad. It looked like a shoulder to shoulder hit, Seabrook had the puck, and had Seabrook been more sturdy on his skates, he would not have flown five feet into the boards. Great job by the PK to kill off the five minute major.

How did Chicago only get 1 double minor (and that being Havlat clocking Hamhuis in the face)? How?

note to mention the fact that hamhuis didn't leave his feet. don't think the linesman called it, rather the ref behind the play.

strange things happen in chicago from time-to-time, just ask nixon(vote early, vote often) or bartman.

Good gutsy win by the guys. Im really encouraged, Vokoun looked much more comfortable last night, he may be rounding into form. That was a horrible call on Hamhuis, that could have cost us the game but everyone battled. Too bad they have to send Rads down, but that was our only option. I hope no one else gets sick, we're running out of bodies LOL

I still can't believe that Zanon is in the top 6 with a guy as talented Klein playing in the minors.

FYI:

http://www.nhl.com/rules/rule44.html
A minor or major penalty, at the discretion of the Referee, based upon the degree of violence of the impact with the boards, shall be imposed on any player who checks an opponent in such a manner that causes the opponent to be thrown violently in the boards.
(NOTE) Any unnecessary contact with a player playing the puck on an obvious "icing" or "off-side" play which results in that player being knocked into the boards is "boarding" and must be penalized as such. In other instances where there is no contact with the boards, it should be treated as "charging".

When a major penalty is imposed under this Rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.
Any player who incurs a total of two (2) game misconducts for Boarding under Rule 44 (b), in either Regular Season or Playoffs, shall be suspended automatically for the next game of his Team. For each subsequent game misconduct penalty the automatic suspension shall be increased by one game.
When a major penalty is imposed under this Rule, an automatic fine of one hundred dollars ($100) shall be imposed.
i don't recall hamhuis having another misconduct for boarding this year, so he should be good to go tonight.
