Just wanna get a take on favorite vocalists. See I'm almost 29, I just about grew up with the Seattle music scene, Chris Cornell is a ****ing god. Seriously, I love Soundgarden, Audioslave, his solo stuff is good too. But you gotta see him do his acoustic solo tour. I saw him in November at Count Basie and in AC, unbelievable shows. His voice is so powerful and amazing. I actually blew off my 10 year high school reunion to go see him. Thoughts?

Favorite vocalists in no particular order:

Geoff Tate
Bruce Dickinson
James LaBrie
Rob Halford
Michael Kiske

--Random Note--

Chris Cornell studied with Maestro David Kyle. One of my favorite vocalists of all time, Geoff Tate, also studied with him.

Going to shamelessly plug in my vocal teacher's name: Robert Lunte. He also studied with the Maestro. He now has a training program that I am using to learn to sing.

I was Initially inspired by artists such as Steve Perry, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson and Geoff Tate. I eventually met the legendary Maestro David P. Kyle of Seattle, WA., the preeminent private voice coach for rock and metal singers of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Artists such as, Geoff Tate from Queensryche, Ann Wilson from Heart, Layne Staley from Alice in Chains and Chris Cornell all trained with David Kyle.

Pearl Jam is a love or hate band, and I hate them. Adore Nirvana, and Kurt's voice. Ian Curtis is my favorite AINEC. That man's voice echoed through the abyss. Or something. hah.

Don't see how it's possible to hate Pearl Jam but love Nirvana. I love both, but Pearl Jam really does blow them out of the water.
