I'd rather have a deal around Pearson than a 1st and a maybe prospect like Vey.

Two good prospects and a 1st? Not a chance in hell.

Either way, you aren't getting two of our best 3 prospects. You can have one prospect and a pick.

You still aren't reading my post right. I'll break down what I said:

Pearson > Vey and 1st rounder

In no way did I say that Buffalo should get two of LA's top prospects.

There's no way you will get 2 of our top 3 forward prospects.

Your post makes it look like your adding Vey to Pearson

This is what I was thinking. For a rental Moulson I would expect a 1st + mid prospect or a high prospect + 3rd or something.

1st and mid level offensive prospect.

Think weal, kozun, delauries, forbort.... And a 1st.

If you want Pearson, the pick drops to a mid-rounder

I doubt the Sabres would get Toffoli for Moulson unless the bidding becomes more competitive than usual, but this post is ridiculous. Toffoli has only ever been attached to a contender. Moulson has been on garbage teams his whole career. Neither were responsible for their teams being what they were.

Playoff experience is ridiculously overrated. Matt Moulson's ability to stand around the net and finish isn't going to be magically altered because it's a playoff game. If you need a guy who can finish around the net but doesn't have anything else notable in his game, then he's as good a candidate as anyone else who will be available.

As an islanders fan I grew fond of moulson quickly. Him and Tavares packed a one two punch that Long Island hadn't seen in a long time. So I really would like to see him back on the island. Although I doubt it more and more as I see teams like LA having interests in him. And these teams are likely to pay big bucks unlike the islanders. Could anyone see him possibly making it to free agency and maybe signing with the isles again? From an islander stand point I don't see why not because keeping guys like bailey is literally making me rip my hair out.

I think he'll sign wherever the money is. That's not me saying he's any more greedy than any other player, but when second-tier guys with high-end numbers like Moulson hit free agency they get massively overpaid. He's going to get offers that will be hard to turn down and those offers probably won't be coming from the Islanders.

The question is will he be willing to pay the price to stand around the net in a playoff game against the Blues/Sharks? Did you see those games last year? There is a high physical price to pay when going to the dirty areas against a team like the Sharks in the playoffs. Will his abilities change? No.

The playoffs are a hole different level of play.

There is always a "high physical price to pay" around the net. It's not exclusive to postseason hockey.

MM was god awful in the playoffs. He has never been a good plus minus guy ever. His soft play and reluctance to hit or hustle defensive wise got him benched earlier this year. Playoff intensity is greater then the regular season and his game isnt built for it

His soft play and reluctance to hit matter just as much in the regular season, which is why no one considers him a high-end player despite being a consistent 30 goal scorer. The sample size the original poster was using of Moulson and Toffoli's playoff records was ridiculous. Put Moulson on a team like LA and I wouldn't be concerned about him in the playoffs.

It was ambiguously phrased. Looked like he was saying he wanted Pearson and Vey rather than a 1st and Vey.

Uh no. It's because the Sabres barely average 1.5 goals a game not because he doesn't have Tavares.
