It would be bad news if we dropped these back to back games. Let's hope a loss wakes them up to stop having to comeback all the time.

Pretty sure they've been coming on lately.

From watching highlights recently, Tavares and Vanek seem to be lighting it up. I'm scared.

I think it's time for a 6 point game from Giroux. Don't let me down.

We're down our two best d-men, so it's about as ugly (or worse) than you think it looks. You're seeing us with Vis and Hamonic out. That's pretty bad. If it wasn't for Calvin de Haan stepping in and immediately playing like a top-4 guy, it'd be that much worse.

We struggle against larger forward groups, our middle lines could be exploitable, and our defense will probably be smaller/rawer/less talented than it should be; in other words, the defense could also be very exploitable. We're going to have a lot of guys on defense playing above where they should in an NHL lineup.

Islanders are going to need some guys to play above themselves and get a really strong team effort (or Poulin standing on his head) to walk away with points. Needless to say, the top line will also need to produce.

Well, that's encouraging for us. I'm just scared of that top line, any defensive breakdown like we've been having is gonna end up in the back of the net.

These two games are big, we can keep the Islanders from challenging us for hopefully the rest of the season if we put these two away.

Need G to step it up and take advantage of this weak defense/goalie. Feel like our second line could have a lot of success against this team as well.

That has to be the worst GDT I have ever seen . About 5/6 years ago I use to come in here and check out MSE's GDT to get tips as I started doing them for the Islander board. The man, the myth, the legend! I spent some time here last playoffs and everyone was real nice so good look to you guys and may the force be with you. Here is hoping for a good home and home!

I'm hoping for you guys to fall asleep one game so we get a split. Luckily for both our teams, we match up much better against the Rangers. (We're playing them three times in the remainder of the month. We also might be fully healthy at some point.)

It's practically certain the Flyers will sleep for a minimum of 1 period.

Touche'. I think we will fall asleep for the 1st periods of both games. Last time I came here you guys laughed at me when I said the game will be like 3-2 either way. And some of you guys/gals were like " we can't even score more then 1". I think you put up a 5 spot on us and started rolling from there.

Edit: found it!

The Isles are playing some real good hockey right now with their backs towards the wall.

If the Flyers can split the series I call it a success. If they can take 3 points that would be great...

we are very, very fortunate here

I went over to the Penguins board during the Caps game the other day and I was shocked.

They had the Pens lineup done in big goofy pictures of anime/pokymon characters or whatever it's called. Some of them were cartoons of little girls with swords and magic wands and ****. It was like a 13 year old dork had done the GDT in his spare time between ****ing himself silly in the basement - and that seemed to be ok with everyone. They didn't even have the Caps lineup anywhere on the entire thread. I thought it must be a joke and they would post the real GDT thread but nope.

They certainly have some knowledgeable fans but overall - that's the absolute worst fanbase in all of professional sports. Just check the OP on their GDTs and 90% of the posts. Pathetic.

Thank you MSE for holding us to a higher standard.

Oh my god, you weren't kidding. Those were some of the worst GDTs I have ever seen.

Thank you MSE.

Lol that's terrible.

To be fair though, hfboards has a tendency to be a silly place.

That Vanbiesbrouck gear in the OP was awesome. I miss that mask.

Sucks that there's another game on TCN. Let's get 2 points here.
