If only that Hornqvist guy could score a goal at ES or 5on4 just once in his career.

Fisher with a bad game and Hornqvist with a far from stellar game up until that PP goal. Missed assignments in the defensive end .. especially Fisher on the Avs' first goal.

This team's dependence on PP scoring is an Achilles heel. There simply are not enough PP opportunities to claw back in a game when the ES play puts the team in a deep hole early ... even with a top 10 pp%.

Dam it time ran out on that Weber goal. If the preds had played the 2nd like the 1st we wouldn't be in this hole.

Only four goalies in Predators history have won in their first start in net for Nashville: Dan Ellis, Carter Hutton, Anders Lindback, and Pekka Rinne.

I'm blaming DD's mask ... it's the only new thing to blame.

So do you let DD play through the end but risk more goals allowed and crushing his remaining confidence or do you pull him to prevent that but crush his confidence by pulling him in his first start as a Predator?

Okay the next game we just need to put Hutton or Maz in. The new goalie sucks.

For a big goalie, he sure makes himself small and isn't very mobile.

Mitch Korn needs a lot of time with him. Things could have been exactly the same with Hutton in net though. Need to score more then 1 PP goal. Right when I say that we score.

My issue with playing Dubs tonight was that it appeared more as a commercial (see marketing) decision rather than a team focused decision.

Yeah probably true but Hutton at least seemed like he was on fire in the last game. Should have let him play tonight's game while he was still hot and then if he went cold again then put the new goalie in. By then he would have had some practice w/ Mitch Korn.

How many times did we fail to clear the zone and keep giving the Avs chances until they found a wide open shot? A common occurrence this season and too often it results in a goal against.

DD got hung out to dry repeatedly early (something EVERY Preds goalie experiences this season), had the bad luck of kicking one in behind himself for the Avs 4th goal after letting it leak through but going wide before the leg sweeping it in. He hasn't stood on his head, but, there's only so much a goalie can do when the skaters in front of him fail to do their jobs.

Now Ellis scores. Be nice if we would have stopped those first 2 goals in the period.

I seem to recall Peks chased in the season opener and giving up at least three goals in 1/3 of his starts this season.

At least the players aren't given up and battling to stay in the game.
