So I got to thinking about strereotypical finnish goaltenders. That led me thinking about making a team based on simply the strereotypes without naming specific players. 20-man roster would be quite hard so why not limit it to just first line, top-2 D-men and a goalie.
Mine would definately be:
center: Sweden - Playmaking center with good vision and able hands
wing1: Russia - Skilfull pure shootter(doh)
wing2: Czech - Hard working cycle player working round the net
D1: Canada - Large defensively responsible stay-at-home defender with a moster shot
D2: USA - fast PMD and a good breakout player
Goal: Finland - Athletic goalie with nice glove hand
Not many national strereotypes include defensive play. Hardest choise is to make where to put canada I would like to see what other possible combos are possible. I could honestly see swiss being there. Possibly on defense
Goalie: big, athletic Finnish goalie with ice cold nerves.
Defenceman: young, smart, two-way Swedish defender who can move well.
Defenceman: tough and big American veteran who can protect the goal and punish opposition.
Winger: hard working, two-way Czech with dangling skills and accurate wrist shot.
Center: big but mobile Canadian center who can create situations but also score some himself.
Winger: goal scoring Russian who has played most of his years in North American leagues from like 10 years old so he doesn't have that "me, me, me" Russian attitude. Speed, good shot and positioning are his best attributes.
Wanted to pick two Americans, Canadians or Swedes 'cos they can do it all. Choosing between Slovakian and Russian was a tough choice but the latter seems to be able to create great players still. Just don't want the attitude.
