I have no idea what to make of this group. Its almost like they can only be good defensively and terrible offensively or great offensively and terrible defensively. Its been like this for 3 years and with two different coaches.

Their PK is also terrible. I know % wise they do well but they can never come up with a big kill when they need it.

I am also getting annoyed with the lack of ice time for G. Tavares is out there half the game...for entire PPs...all the other top players are like that too. Giroux doesnt even get out their on the PK anymore...so there is no excuse for not using him more.

Why wasn't Raffl or Voracek in the shootout? Vinny and Couts? Really?

Emery was solid all game. He sucks in shootouts but it shouldn't have gotten to that point in the first place. Undisciplined play is what lost the Flyers the game. You can't give the Isles chances on the PP. There's only so much our PK can do.

Oh well. Take the point and move on.

That's because when Tavares is out there, Couturier is as well.

Jake was hurt, but I agree. Vinny is lacking confidence right now, shouldnt have been used.

I honestly wouldve given Mez a shot. Didnt he win the teams skill competition in shootouts a couple years ago? His confidence is sky high right now.

Pretty nice moves in the SO but emery should have stopped the first shooter...vinny had such a bad game wow. Even in the SO he was the worst!
Two gread individual efforts by matt read and a stellar performance by ray emery saved a point for us today. Coots had a good game too. On the other side, Grossmann and L. Schenn continue to suck.
No words on the penaltys

Voracek hasn't taken a shootout shot all season, and is injured.

Couturier has a lot of skill with the puck and scored a great goal in the last shootout.

He didn't take a shift though, did he? They made it sound like he just made an appearance. Has there been any word on him?

I dont remember seeing voracek on the ice after he left the game. I think he came back to the bench for a second but never played again

I was just going off the commentators, they showed Jake back on the bench and said he must be okay. Relax.
If he is hurt that's a big blow to the team.

Flyers 14 mins shorthanded vs Isles 8 really did not help.

They just have to stop taking so many penalties.

Post-game update: Voracek's left hand to be re-evaluated when the team returns to Philly.

That 4 on 3 power play in the third was baaaaaaad. Seemingly no urgency at all. Where's the killer instinct?

And the penalties, my lord, it's just ridiculous.

Oh well, at least they got a point, right?

Shame Giroux couldn't have worked that move in the Nashville shootout. That was great.

Downie is seriously mega struggling right now. Playing probablly the worse hockey out of our forwards. Yes and that includes Vinny. While Vinny hasnt been great also he does alot more than Downie who seems to be responsible for giving up a goal a game.

Not Emery's fault at all. Was he bad in the shootout? Yes. But he is the only reason we got to a shootout. The team's effort today, or lack there of, was embarrassing. This defense is putrid. Lucky to be in second place. Tomorrow is a must win game.
