These players have talent. We've seen them turn it on. Like the West coast trip. Berube should not have followed Lavy, they're too much alike. Wrong guy, wrong time. These guys need a fresh face with a fresh game plan. Flyers gave the assistant his first head coaching job. The guy learned from a coach who lost the team, was too close to the players, and he has no emotion.

The lack of urgency to get pucks on net is troubling as well. Dance around in off zone and do nothing So lucky to only be down 1. That was quite the one sided period.

We need a much better defense. These guys are horrible. Kimmo is ok, but he's what? 38? The rest are just a giant ball of frustration. As for forwards, we're pretty good in. We need a top line LW though. G, Voracek, Coots, Simmonds, Schenn, Raffl, Read, Hall (In terms of 4th liners go) are all good players. Just need more consistency from Hartnell, Downie, and Vinny. And this VandeVelde guy looks pretty good. I want Gus back in over Mez, Gus isnt going to be the nexxt great defenseman, but he isnt a complete liability defensively. But even so, we're better than the Canes and should be able to bea these guys but they arent showing up and it ****ing pisses me off

They'll turn it on in the 3rd and make a push for a win on the back of another 20 min effort.

This exactly.

I don't even feel like Berube was the reason for the Flyers turn around at the beginning of the season. It was on the team for the slow start. Not the coach. If anything, I prefer Laviolette over Berube. At least Laviolette had a lot of passion in his coaching. Berube just seems to be derping around without a clue in the world. So frustrating.

You basically are taking our best play maker out of the equation letting Raffl and Voracek do all the work. He can create much more if he has the puck on his stick, now let him go down on the forecheck.
I'm down.

But then again, it might not necessarily be Berube's system, it might be how Giroux is playing. Couturier is routinely doing board work and going after the puck.

I really think we are underestimating Berube and his ability to coach and get fired up. He doesn't show his emotion on the bench, but I bet my bottom dollar that the players here it from him. We all know how he played the game, he most likely still has that fire in him

Also, I believe he has a good deal of knowledge about the game. The players have to come out better than that. Nothing more, they weren't skating, passing even talking. They looked and played quiet.

So I just watched most almost all the 1st with no sound, wondering if something was up with the TCN feed. I changed channels, heard that other channels got sound just fine. I just now realized it wasn't the feed, but I accidentally hit the language button without knowing it. Since there was no Spanish broadcast, I heard nothing.

I felt I'd share because this story was more interesting than the 1st IMHO.

He has a mediocre roster & is getting mediocre results. I don't think he's the coach of the future but firing him right now wouldn't change a thing. This team is what it is.

We'll probably make the playoffs & get steamrolled in the first round then it will be back to the drawing board this offseason.
