I don't think we should tank, but Ekblad and McDavid are looking really good right now.

A mediocre team is mediocre.

That was Schenn, and it jumped his stick.

Bad puck luck

I actually think Schenn played pretty well. He had to keep trying to make up for the horrible clearing attempts by Mez tonight.

McDavid is only eligible next draft (2015). Ekblad and Reinhart are the big ones for this draft.

Again, the effort isn't the problem, it's specific players playing like trash. Don't complain about the entire team based on a few players who are either bad or playing bad.

And Mason was bad too, I don't know why people feel like they need to make excuses for him when he's playing as bad as the D is. The first two goals were pathetic and the third was a massive rebound. He's had maybe one or two good games since the beginning of december.

My bad. Thought it was Coburn for some reason. At least I got the "it wasn't really his fault" part right I guess haha.

Mason was not at fault on any of those goals. They were three horrific defensive plays/giveaways.

I know, you could say I am planning for the future. Hell, I'd be happy with Eichel, Konecny or Hanifin.

Edit: I would be more than happy.

I don't think Mason was at fault tonight. Yeah he wasn't sharp but it easily could of been 6-2 if he didn't make some big saves.

Get dummied by the Islanders and Hurricanes. Laughable. And it all starts with 28. He deserves to be off Team Canada with his play.

Carolina dominated the 3rd after we scored. Still, without that broken stick it probably would have gone to OT. They are really low on energy and sloppy and I doubt that will change till after the Olympics.

This team is going nowhere. I just hope management feels the same way.

And even more likely 2-1 if he didn't get embarrassed by two extremely stoppable goals.

An NHL goalie should not be letting fat rebounds out in the slot on snapshots from the point with no screens.

The third goal is all on him.

We need to start sandbagging like Edmonton and all the other teams that get good picks for years then turn it up . We just don't suck enough so never get a top 2 pick and when we did, he didn't do much till we traded him!

Playing the majority of the game in your own zone doesn't sound like a wining strategy to me.

True, but if we can't score more then 2 goals against Anton Kudobin we have bigger issues.

The first two goals were outstanding plays by skilled forwards. And the third was a small rebound from a very strong shot.

People need to not let the emotion of a loss color what actually happened.

Giving Giroux and team a rest was more important than the Hurricanes fatigue level I liked it.

Giroux clearly is playing at a lower level than he is capable of. Maybe we have expectations that are too high, but to say his play is nothing to argue about is flat out ignorant

Edmonton is a train wreck & proof that tanking isn't a full proof plan. I want to be nothing like them.
