We won't be gettig any more ff deals. We cant use that as a yard stick as that was total steal even at the time.

Are you saying Legwand is more productive than Erat?

Leggy has roughly 2 more seasons and 65 more points. However, unless Marty gets it together Leggy will continue to pull away overall, because clearly over the last 2 years Leggy has been more productive.

I think we'd need more than that.

Lindholm was the #5 pick and probably a top 30 in the NHL prospect.

Legwand is a UFA, so all you're really getting out of him is about 25 games and maybe the playoffs - which Carolina is in no way assured of making. Ellis is a meh prospect/defenseman and Carolina already has Liles - who's a better, bigger version of Ellis. The 1st is valuable, but say we finish about 10th - then Carolina would be giving up the #5 pick for the 10th pick and spare parts.

Not to mention - Carolina is probably the one team in the NHL that's worse off than us when it comes to young high-upside forward prospects. Their farm system forwards are pretty much Lindholm and a bunch of nothing.

If I'm Carolina and I'm looking at the Preds - pretty much the only thing that interests me for Lindholm is Jones or Josi.

We aren't getting Lindholm. Forget it.

What worries me right now, however, is Poile hinting that Ellis won't be moved. Uhmmm. Where exactly does he fit in? We have enough puck movers right now and enough powerplay specialists who can also play regular minutes... is he destined to just play 3rd pairing minutes the rest of his career with us? Third pairing D men are a dime a dozen. We don't need Ellis.

While his value his high, NOW is the time to trade him! Especially for a prospect like Sven Baertschi who is struggling in Calgary and may not be in Burke's long time plans. Throw in Spaling or a pick and we now have FF and Baertschi as our future with our top 4 defenders figured out till kingdom come. Add in whatever we get for legwand (hopefully a 1st rounder or a decent forward prospect) and away we go. I also think Stalberg gets moved not so much because I think he is a bad player, but because I don't think he fits in here.

course, with the edition of MDZ who is an expert on stretch passes, maybe Stalberg sees more scoring opportunities...

Personally I would just like to see the mismanaging of Forsberg to stop. He's an all world player and you're telling me Poile/Trotz can't find a spot for him on the roster. That's a joke. You let the kid play and learn from experience, not from Milwaukee and the press box.

Like the MDZ pick up though.

But we are talking about when Erat was traded. Erat was and is more productive than Legwand.

Legwand .59 ppg
Erat .65 ppg even with the past two seasons

Not to mention Legwand is an UFA and Erat still had 2 or 3 years left on his deal.

I remain convinced that FF is in Milwaukee so he doesnt have to sit for two weeks during the olys

if he isnt called up after the games then you have a point.

Even at that, there's just no need to rush him. Team's not going anywhere this season, but he may just be better served playing lights out in the AHL, getting his confidence up, bulking up a bit, and getting ready to start the year with the big club next season. He'll probably get a call up at some point, but I think it would be real beneficial for him to be a part of Milwaukee's playoff run as well, over playing potentially meaningless games to close out the season with the Preds.

Forsberg isn't ready to step into the NHL yet. If you watched the games he played for the Predators you would know this. I think sending him to the Ads was by far the best thing for him. He needs to get used to NA style of play before you throw him in with the big boys. I think next season you will see him in Gold and playing better than he looked early this season.

I agree with this. I think the time with the Ads is valuable and he'll get great confidence lighting the lamp there. He's had a taste of the NHL speed and size and knows what it'll take to take the next step.

We should move Ellis and Legwand before the deadline if we can for some offensive pieces and/or picks.

I kind of like this winning thing. I think we are playing well and with a few pieces could make a good push for the off season (especially if Peks comes back)

To Nash: Perron , Hemsky

To EDM: Spaling, Austin Watson/Sissons, Wilson

New Lines For Post Season Push

Perron-Fisher-Smith
Forsberg-Legwand-Hemsky
Stalberg-Cullen-Hornqvist
Borque-Gaustad- Nystrom

I wouldn't mind Perron but I would have no interest in Hemsky. I also wouldn't give up on Wilson just yet and Spaling is underated.

At this point I think Wilson's problem is his head, the same reason that Smith had so many issues for some time. I think playing with Hornqvist is not what's best for him. Maybe put him with Smith and see what happens.

I do agree with your comment on Spaling and the last several games Spaling > Wilson.

I'd like to see Wilson dropped from the top line, both to play with some other guys and give him a break as far as opponents. He's scored one out of the last 23 games.

Agree to disagree about the forsberg issue.

Other hand, please bring Perron in.
