Ya. That's the only band announced so far. Apparently sometime this week rockfest is announcing as they put it " something that will please metal fans but it's not a band". Can't be free beer so I wonder what it is.

How a deal with Molson would please metalheads? Most of the metalheads I know (including me) drinks microbrew beers only and hate 'macrobrewery beers'. A deal with Unibroue, RJ or Boréale would please metalheads

I confirm that unless it's a deal with Dieu Du Ciel, I couldn't care less.

And even then...

Me and my homies already rented a house in downtown Montebello. ... well, Village Montebello. Actually, we're a minute walk away from the site.
So yeah... Probably gonna drink beer. Not macro beer. On the front porch. Much cheaper

Still... I dunno, but Unibroue during a music festival...? That's kinda heavy and yeasty.

Why not a big Fin du Monde at 35°C outside? ahahah
A deal with DDC would be over-the-top, couldn't imagine a better beer for this festival.
But still, a deal with Boreale would still be better than Molson/Labatt/Any other junk, even if I'm not into that kind of 'big' macrobreweries, it'd still do a wayyyyy better job than junk beer diluted with water tasting like piss.

Personally we have been camping on the site 2 for 3 years now, and we are a big gang around 20-25 people, so we can't rent anything. But renting a house is going to be awesome for you, especially if you're only 3 or 4 guys.

We've been renting that place since 2010; enough room and rooms to comfortably lodge 10 persons. I think we ended up being 13 last year and there was absolutely no problem at all.

For that kind of event, I prefer "light" stuff. I obviously don't mean Coors Light -- if I wanted to drink that kind of stuff, I'd probably to straight to the river. IF anything, I pretty much filled the fridge with St-Ambroise Pale Ale cans and that was perfectly fine. I DID drink some Fin du Monde, but that was 6-pack from the dep brought at 11:30 PM for late night purposes.

Hopefully some interesting news on the musical front though. NOFX is pretty much at the top of the list of the bands I don't really care about.

Yeah, saw that. Hopefully, good bands to come as well !

Some euro stuff (metal, that is) would be great. Its pretty much has been the only thing missing from the early days.

And plz no Iron Maiden or the likes. I like them, I love them. I'd just like the tickets to remain reasonably priced.

last years rockfest had amazing bands announced and lots of them didnt make it.
the organizers never gave a crap to let people know. im thinking bad brains mainly.

with the logistic changes. it should be better than ever, but sadly all i heard about last year was complaints.
if the line-up is good. i will consider for sure.

If he's able to bring some bands that don't come often, like Dark Tranquility or Hypocrisy, I'd pay any price.

Anthrax killed it . I think it was something medical with one of the members that forced bad brains to cancel if I remember right.

It will be different. They are now partners with major players in the festival world now. But I will never forget the massive lake of piss.

not sure what hapenned, but all i remember was people asking the organizer on facebook if the rumors about certain bands not playing were true and the kid never answered and even when to delete some people when they complaint about the lack of answers.
then i read about how bad it was. (camp too far. buses leaving before the end of the show. overcrowded. urine lake, etc)

There were some good bands but it was a s*** show. My wife and I live 45 minutes away so we drove to and from both days with a few friends. The festival got big quick. Bigger then expected. They will be ready for it this year.

Me (and my group) didn't have ANY problem at all (and none of us were really fans of Bad Brains anyways).

Quand tu es organisé, tu te fais pas organisé.

(sorry, can't come up with an English idiom for that).

You really think that Boréale, Unibroue and RJ are fine beers?

Rockfest

It seems a part of the lineup has been set. Now all that's left to do is to release the names, which will probably be done in the next weeks.

If anything, Tim Armstrong (Rancid, amongst others) said the lineup is amazing so far.
