Tell me about hockey underwear.

Under Armour is popular but is expensive. What about it's competitors?
Do any of you wear special underwear shorts?
Do any of you just wear normal underwear?

Thanks!

i wear a loose version of Nike's under-armor like line. Its cheaper and it works fine. And their tight pants that are thermal like. Partly because if Velcro touches my skin it irritates me, always has since I was little. But also it soaks up sweat real good and tends to keep the stink out of my gear I've notice. Alot easier three things rather than one! Oh yeah the cup shorts over that of course. With the little Velcro thing's to hold up the socks, priceless invention. I wear boxers underneath it all and im fine, i play a hard game and don't really notice sweat. Just the pants and shirt get soaked with sweat =p

CCM isnt bad either. Here's what i use, the pants were a little more expensive than i thought.

I prefer to wear nothing but a speedo under my hockey pants, and it also has Pat Falloon's face dye-sublimated on it.

I rock a Nike DriFit longsleeve and it's great. Keeps you cooler and more comfortable. You know how a regular cotton t-shirt under your gear gets sopping wet and heavy and gives you chills? Say goodbye to that.

I also have my eye on this, only because I'm a fan of the OG blue undershirts from back in the day:

For lower body, I just rock boxer briefs and my trusty itech jockshorts.

I'm a big UA supporter...I've got 2 cold gear shirts, for pond hockey and OTL

and then I've got the Under Armour leggings which I freakin love...sure they make ya feel a little insecure cuz it restricts everything...lol, but they are soooooooo comfy. I've also got a couple shirts that I alternate under my gear as well, plus socks...amazing gear...but really, the Nike and RBK is likely just as good, I just love Under Armour

Pretty much the same thing here, except mines an Under Armour longsleeve. The I-Tech shorts are great.

Jock, garter, old ripped up cotton things on the bottom. Ratty old t-shirt on top.

Sometimes I'll forget the cotton bottoms or shirt if I take them out to wash them..no biggies to me, I know plenty of people who play nekkid under the pads....somethin about the breeze feels good

Under Armour is nice, but is not worth the cost. Anything that is non-cotton works pretty well. Those knock-offs by like Russell Athletic and other brands you find at Wal-Mart or Target for like $10 works just as well.

I personally have a few loose fit and a few tight fit ones in shirts and shorts/pants. I mix and match, don't have much of a preference. I find pads slide a little with the tight fit, so getting a nice Nike one with the grip prints might be worth it.

I got that Itcech shirt about 6 months ago and didn't like it. Elbow pads caused bunch up, the dri-fit perfoms better IMO.

Thanks for the skinfo, I guess I was just more enamored with the throwback baby blue color that NHLers used to rock back in the day.

DRI-FIT 4 LIFE!

Pretty much the same color, lower cost, better performance. Nike also offers this shirt where you can put your name, number and symobls on it called ID.
