Read in news today from Toronto Sun that Habs have scouts attending Avs games. Speculating that Jamie McGinn is available. Colorado is looking for blue line help and Diaz who was a healthy scratch might be traded for McGinn. Diaz was kept out of the lineup in case injury. McGinn has size but is considered a third liner. Perhaps a McGinn-Eller checking line in the playoffs.
Doesn't this have to do with the speculations earlier this week? It was more centered around Bourque + with salary retention for McGinn/Parenteau. Some thing like that. Then it was also rumoured that Habs turned down the deal but later corrected it was the Avs who said no...
I wouldn't be surprised if those dolts had everything mixed up.
Something around Mcginn and Diaz could help both clubs... The Habs may have to add a conditional pick in case Diaz doesn't resign. Really hope this deal goes through... Eller-McGinn can form a great checking lines for years to come.
I would definitely do Bourque & Diaz for McGinn but I'm not sure it would interest the Avs.
McGinn is a solid player and is better than a lot of wingers on this team but would ideally be a 3rd liner with Eller and Prust but we'd have to move out another winger for when Chucky is back so he can play in the top 6.
