Can't we just use the penalty box as the team bench?

Joe Mich..

is going off! I agree about the passion of the game and I think there should be back and forth 'roughing' type stuff and other physical play, but that's the kind of play, away from the puck, that the league's been trying to stop that was a criticism of the Devils, Panthers, and other defensive-minded trapping teams on the mid to late-90s.

I still don't understand what the Ref saw that could have possibly led him to call a hook on Shanahan

2-2 end of the second. NY gave up 20 shots on net, they need to stay out of the box, and win this in the third.

Of course Lecavalier is going to agree that everything will be called.

Sorry, Fletch, I can. It's the inconsistency of the call. I've seen too many times when the puck was further away from the player, the player get plastered, and nothing called. That, to me is the most frustrating aspect of all of this. The game can go two periods of being clean, and all of a sudden, we see a parade to the box, with at least four questionable calls. It's been horrid.

21(!) shots on Lundqvist in the 2nd period alone. That's more than Hasek faces in an entire game.

As far as I'm concerned these last 2 calls were payback for Shanny ripping the refs.

Maybe he saw Shanny's post game interview from the Toronto game?

The one on Shanahan was a complete joke. A person trying to get into hockey sees something like that and they laugh and turn the channel.

wanna know how bad that period was for the Rangers?

Henrik gave up 2 goals, and his save % for the period was .905

Rangers are just getting shafted by the Refs.

*Note to self, criticizing refs=instant retribution*

There's no other explanation aside from the ref did not really see what was going on. I hope the MSG feed is the one on center ice tonight and the people in toronto are hearing what broadcasters in a real hockey area have to say. Just terrible. please somebody put it on youtube

Yeah, didn't see the Shanahan penalty but wouldn't surprise me to see Refs starting calling some stupid **** against him.

It's a penalty, though, jas...

the puck was moved well before Cullen arrived. He basically threw a check at a guy who was heading for the puck. He impeded St. Louis' ability to get to the puck as a result. I think that's different, and less obvious, if Cullen arrives on time, hits St. Louis, and 'rides' with him a bit. Too obvious, too much after the puck was moved for it not to be called. I think that's a consistent call and one that's pretty obvious.

I found it curious that Shanahan didn't argue over the call at all and just went straight for the box. Almost like he expected it or something
