This is freaking ridiculous. We have been absolutely harmless in breaking the rules and still we have spent almost an entire period in the box. Sure, some legit, most a joke.
it's two penalties, and penalties should be called. In theory, you have a trip and a guy who embellishes the trip - that's two penalties - why not call both? If the guy doesn't dive, you have one penalty. If there isn't a hook/trip, you have a dive.
But then how do you discourage guys from diving? If they know that the worst outcome is 4-on-4 with the possibility of fooling the ref and having a 5-on-4 PP, then it makes sense to dive. There needs to be a disincentive (other than that supposed list Bettman has circulating around the NHL).

On top of that list, there is supposed to be a fine, and I thought but don't know for sure, that multiple transgressions resulted in a suspension. Guys should be embarassed for having that label attached...
In this instance you had a guy hold up or hook someone and take a penalty. You had a forward, Cullen, who embellished the call and took a dive. There are many other situations where there isn't a hook/old and a guy takes a dive and there is a man advantage. It didn't make sense to dive - if Cullen doesn't dive, his team has a 5-on4. I honestly do not know what you're trying to say.

i think the season might be over after this loss. i wanna crunch some numbers, but im really beginning to think that the playoffs just arent going to happen no matter who we get for the last few weeks.
