Our Next 4 Games are huge...

We have 54 Points.
We are FOUR points behind Pittsburgh (6th), T.Bay (7th) & Carolina (8th).
Toronto have 56 points are in 9th place while we are in 10th and tied on points with the Islanders.

Our next FOUR games are at Tampa Bay tomorrow. Home to the Red Wings. Out to Jersey for the Third game & return home to face Tampa Bay in the 4th game.

I strongly believe this stretch will make us or break us (Unless we go 2w2L) These teams are pretty good & the games against T.Bay are huge.

We have 3 games in hand on Carolina. Tampa Bay, we have 2 & Pittsburgh has one game in hand over US! (We have a game on the leafs too)

I think If we lose 3 out of 4, we can kiss the playoffs goodbye.
I also think if we WIN 3 out of 4, Sather will push for a deal or 2 & we can make a charge for the PO'S.

Any thoughts how we will fair on this stretch?

We have good chance to win 3 of 4 if Lundqvist continues to play as well as he did against Toronto. Only MB could be compared to Raycroft, so would give out NJ game. The rest are winnable.

Any games the Rangers play against TBL, CAR, PIT, and TOR are must wins. There others are not as critical.

Losing 3 out of the next 4 would be really bad.

Bottom line is the Rangers still need 18 wins out of the last 31. Have the Rangers played at that pace at any time year?

The question is: do the Rangers have to overtake someone in the standings, or will one of the teams in front of them take a serious drop off?

Huge games without a doubt. I'm sure a lot of you will disagree but I really like how they've played the last few games. Skating hard and with grit. Hope they stick to it. if so, I think we'll be ok.

Realisticly, out of those 4 games, I see us only winning 2. I think we beat TB tomorrow and we beat NJ. Detroit and the Last TB game I think we lose.

Actually we have 3 games in hand on Carolina and 2 games in hand on Tampa Bay. Things aren't as bleak as you make them seem, but we have to start winning these games in hand.

I cant believe after looking at where the Rangers where after November, they are now only 6 points from 14th in the conference.

I'll keep saying it until it comes and goes. The season comes down to the 13 out of 17 home game stretch in the middle of February into March, plain and simple. Its there, just waiting to be taken advantage of.

If the Rangers can miraculously find the home cookin of last year theyll be in fine shape, but if their home record this year is any indication of how theyll play during that stretch, you can kiss the playoffs goodbye and start talking draft around.....my birthday - March 15th.

Which team is getting knocked out of the top 8 in the east?

Buffalo,Jersey and Atlanta are in.Ottawa is playing well and they are getting their injured bodies back into the line-up.Montreal slumped in early January but they have since rebounded.Tampa is playing their best hockey since winning the cup with Lecavalier and St.Louis having terrific seasons.Pittsburgh is scary good.Carolina is the defending cup winner and they are getting their injured defensemen back

I think out of the teams that have a PO spot now, Pittsburg is the most likley to lose a spot mainly because of the D that has been inconsistant all season long.

I would love to see the Pittsburgh Kids make the playoffs. That team really excites me.

The team I would LIKE to see get bumped out in favor of the Rangers is Montreal. I hate them.

Does anybody think we could knock Buffalo/Atlanta/Devils off in the first round? I'm saying if we make the playoffs its gonna prob be the 8th, 7th or 6th see at best.

Another first round exit?

I will eat my hat if this team wins even 2 of the next 4 games. 3 pts out of 8 is much more realistic. I don't share any optimism that many of you have. And if by some very unRangeresque events we make the playoffs, don't fool yourself into thinking this team could pull a Calgary or Edmonton & do some real damage. I would rate us as the 'meatiest' & most coveted opponent for any team. Out in the first round with a bullet.

The Rangers are going nowhere, treading water if you will.

I think Pittsburgh or Tampa Bay is the most likely to drop out of a playoff spot.

I predict the Rangers will make the playoffs.

Can they beat one of the division winners? They can, but I don't know if they will. I'd give them a good shot against Atlanta, but beating either Buffalo or NJ would be very difficult unless they improve the roster significantly.

Halfway right...I could see Forsberg damaging a little more than just opponents. and we've just seen the beginning of his ankle problems IMO.

Has there ever been a more important stretch (Feb 2nd-27th) for the Rangers? Has it ever been this tight? My only hope is that they either go on a tear or completely bottom out. I do not want to see us pay up for Foppa and then not even make the playoffs.

Every game is huge, and this team needs to wake up and show some, everytime they hit the ice. How can anyone on NY not be motivated to play well?

So....who wants to start the Draft thread? Might as well start thinking about the draftees for this year because we should be getting a good one.

IIRC, the Leafs are on their own 4 game "must win" road trip & have so far take 4 of 4 points. That's a team fighting for a playoff spot.
