Who Was At The Rangers Leafs Game This Week?

Were there a lot of Leafs fans there? How many, what percent, would you estimate were Leafs fans?

Were they loud?
How were they treated?

I was disappointed because on the highlights it sounded like there were a ton of Leafs fans.
I'd say at least 15%, I read they were taking over the place with no repreucssions much like NYR fans do in WAS, and worst of all, this happens all the time with the Leafs.
Is this the norm?

I don't get it, not only is Tor 10 hours away, but it was a WEEKNIGHT, and MSG is always sold out.
I understand it is somewhat corporate, but it is not all that corporate, and now way should a team in Manhatten, a passionate sports mecca, be dominated by an outsider like it sounded.

If you were there could you answer, thanks.

There was A LOT. More then any other team besides Devs, Philly and Isles.

I'd say there was 5% (again that is a lot for a visitor team that is not close by).

They weren't that loud around me, but they celebrated goals and stuff and you could definitely hear them after a goal. I treated the guys near me pretty good, we talked a lot of hockey and they seemed like cool guys.

There was a few Leaf fans that ran around with a leafs flag or something after goals to rub it in and people got pissed at them though and threw stuff at them.

What percent or amount do the Flyers, Devils, and Islanders normally bring?
Dude it had to be more than 5%, that would equal out of 18,200 only 900.

There had to be at least 3,000.

No way there was 3,000. A 1,000 maybe a bit more sounds about right.

Isles this year their is probably about 14-19%
Devils about 10-15%
Philly about 6-10%.

Wow dude, I definetly thought there were A LOT more visiting fans.
Based on what I've heard it sounds like NYI has 25%
NJ 15%
PHI normally 33%.
I even read on Wikipedia about how Flyer fans invade the Garden.

I would like to believe you, but when I have seen the Rangers in Bos and Was, places we have 1/4, 1/3, and 1/2 the arena, it sounds similar to when NYI, NJ, and PHI are in town.

There were a good deal of Leafs fans there, but not as many as youd see for the Devils, Isles or Flyers. Maybe about the same amount as youd see at a Sabres-Rangers game. They pretty much lived up to their reputation as very knowledgeable about the game but quiet and reserved.

I had the same experience as FLYLine88; I noticed there were a lot more than I expected, but they were quiet for the most part (except for celebrating goals) and no one where I was sitting (315) gave them any crap, except for yelling at them to sit down after goals. I don't think there were as many as 3,000 though, that's a lot.

There was one idiot in a Leafs jersey running around the walkway in front of the 300's after a goal, who was getting pelted with garbage by what looked like an entire youth hockey team.

The Leafs fans were way more classy than the Isles, Devils or Flyers' have ever been.

It was basically Toronto natives who live and work in new york showing off for their clueless co-workers who could care less about hockey...

I always thought based on TV it was the Flyers who had the most.
What is the % of Flyers normally?

Which teams bring a lot to MSG?
NYI
NJ
PHI
MON
TOR
BUF
BOS
DET
WSH

Which of those teams, did I miss any, and what % per club?
Thanks.

its probably impossible to give anything close to an accurate %

i'd say isles games have a significantly higher % than the rest

devils and flyers are similar

the rest i don't think is much different than each other and much less than those three above

NYI- A good number
NJ- More then at there home games (more then the Isles)
PHI- Not as much this year, and for a good reason. (There the only team we can beat)
MON- There was a fair amount on opening night last year, not as much as Leaf fans tho.
TOR- Covered above
BUF- There the most annoying
BOS- 1 or 2?
DET- We will find out tomorrow.
WSH- They have fans?

Why does this matter? Has a fan base we travel alot. We sell half the tickets to games at the Coliseum and the Swamp.

they have to be some of the worst fans in the game. They have such a little-brother thing going on, this one year of success is going to their heads.

The Leaf fans didnt stand out to me. I dont know where this "domination" of MSG came about.

If anything it had more to do with the Rangers not getting their own fans into it. I didnt walk out of the garden totally disturbed about the Leafs fans invading town. It didnt even cross my mind.

These #s sound about right except for PHI this year. My company has had NYR seasons except for this year for me so I think it's usually close to what you said except the PHI # is usually lower too based on jerseys worn, it's just that they're louder. Isles fans show up the most at MSG.

Do you guys realize 33% is a third.. picture starting from the blueline going all the way back to the wall on the visiting end, full of Flyer fans

25% would be from the glass to the back of the wall..

That's why I wrote "except the PHI # is usually lower too". I think it's

Isles - 25%.....maybe even 30% now with StubHub.
Devs - 15%
PHI - 19% usually but not this year

TOR, DET AND BUF usually bring some fans out but not big #s

If I read this correct

NYI-25%
PHI-20%
NJ-15%
Tor-10 or thereabouts
Det-Similar
Buf-10%
Mon-Slightly less
Bos-Nothing significant
Wsh-None

Anybody else have a signifcant fanbase at MSG?
Pit?

Didn't Bos used to bring more back in the 90s and 80s?
I can't believe 1 in 4 fans at MSG are Isles fans, it's that many?
Then again don't we have maybe 60% at their place?
Do you think if the Rangers were a good team, not runaway champs, but a consistent good team there were be MUCH fewer?

Dudes, IMO, the most amount of visiting fans that come in are AT MOST around 2,000 and thats the isles. And most of that is down near the glass, where the suits normally sit.

33%..thats laughable. its more like what FLYLINE said. 33% is almost 8,000 people!! There arent 8,000 isle fans TOTAL.
